I love beating Murphy's Law.

Oh, it's been raining every day and I've forgotten my hat? Today I remembered my hat and it wasn't even raining, and the minute I stepped outside: BAM. Drizzle.

I was prepared, justifiably.

I commissioned some character drawings from a sister of an acquaintance and I am so in love with the sketches; if they get better in the final stages, it will be some of the best money I've ever spent.

I love artists.

I love it that my husband is "nerding out" his way (I.e. NCAA 13 on xbox360) and mentions that there is a tight end he's never heard of...shocking. This man knows everything ab football. Like...ever....anyway and I say "would you like me to be your Jane and google him for you?"

And I get the

I love this.

I don't know if I've mentioned it, but I love that I am actually going home for Thanksgiving. I won't be alone either! In fact, I may be getting two feasts.

My husband, Mr. I-Hate-Mornings, got up to go vote at 6 AM so I could have the car to go vote today.

Yup! Some huge gathering of his extended family.

And that is a good husband you got there, Starlooker.

I love it when a project comes together well! I did'nt really elk hunt in Wa. this year ( just feel a bit too stiff) but the normal bunch of my buds stayed and hunted at the ranch near Chewelah so I went up and lazed around my place and did some of the cookin ( and helped with the drinking as I could) and just generally played around. Last year I started a new big game rifle project cuz I cant remember how many deer, elk and bear I've shot with the old Ruger 270 bolt rifle. I (may) pass it down to the boy Jake or Maddie or maybe a grandson next year anyhow I ordered a Ruger #1 single shot chambered in 375 Holland and Holland and had it sent to a friend that only builds and stocks up custom rifles. Correction this started about a couple years back ( I notice a reciept on the board sorry) so after me going to les's gun shop a couple of times and then sending it or parts of it back n forth 2 more times it's back in my giant hands. Long story so far but I've got the top shelf scope and a few more "shinny's" added and I am shocked how perfect it works in my hands. Rarely does this happen in my life but it is plain scarry how "easy accurate" it is, I'm shure mostly it's cuz it's made for me, long arms big hands and all I rarely get to shoot a gun that fits me and I love it. Should I feel up to it I plan to take it to Ak. next year and shoot a big Brownie, maybe we'll see.

I love how vocal my cats are in the morning. It's not a full on meow fest, it's more of a lot of cackling and pigeon noises every time you interact with them. I love that this continues even after they've had breakfast, so it's not just a food thing either!

Yay us! I took this picture a while back and forgot to post it.

In a month, we've added 1500 posts to the town square, but only 27 new topics. I think we're creatures of habit and familiarity. I'm okay with that. :grouphug:

The other webforum I'm pretty active in has twice our post count, but 3 or 4 times the number of topics, and 4 times as many registered users!

I trust he behaved himself and didn't regale you with too many of our wacky political ideas? :P

I sort of had a friend-time dinner today, in that I sat on the couch and ate cereal while three of my housemates talked about biochemistry, and I made silly jokes. That was nice too :)

Pssh. We've known each through three elections at this point and if we want to remain friends for more, we both know to keep our traps shut about all but the silliest parts of politics.

I love this article because I got to talk so much. Not so fond of how they butchered my science remarks (short term carbon cycle == "emits less pollution", what?), but I like our nonprofit getting some attention.

(Thanks for all your advice, Adam. It made our trip better, for sure!)

It'll partly depend on which doctoral programs I get accepted to and who I end up with as an adviser, but my heart is in the mathematical sciences. I'm applying exclusively to computer science or mixed computer science/electrical engineering departments, and looking for advisers with interests in classical photonic computing, computational physics, and game theory (or the related fields of decision theory or agent-based computational economics).

I just learned you can unfollow a specific status on FB. I LOVE this feature because sometimes, when I'm done in the conversation and everyone knows it, I hate having the notifications keep popping up.

I love it too!! I used to not say "Congrats" on a stat/picture that I knew a ton of other people would say the same thing on, because I hated getting notifications every two minutes about it. Now I can just say congrats/Happy Birthday/whatever, and not hear it from every one of their friends.

Luck be a lady, tonight.

Casino night. Ended up with almost 5 times as much as I started with playing roulette.

As someone with a decent background in statistics, I'm going to say that's damned odd. Also pretty nice for you. With roulette, you should expect to lose a little bit upwards of 5% of every bet.

Hostess Cupcakes. :(

We never got them when we were kids, mostly because my parents didn't really buy junk food of that caliber. Now that I'm an adult, I just feel guilty whenever I consider buying them. But now Hostess is going out of business and halting production.

I guess I'm justified, at least this once.

Yup, I knew the house edge going in (and stupidly decided to play, anyway). To be fair, I only wound up where I did because I made a very lucky bet and then had the good sense to walk away.

Indeed, walking away after a lucky win is the best strategy.

Well the best strategy is analyzing statistical deviations of the roulette, but i think that's not allowed now, is it?
