Whoa. It's been far too long since I've posted anything here. I miss you, Pweb, I have just been temporarily swallowed by wedding stuff and holiday stuff and family stuff and job interview stuff and getting healthy stuff and probably starting to build a house stuff. In other words, my life is like, vomiting stuff out at me and I haven't been able to clean it all up yet. Yay for gross metaphors. Weak ones, even.

My triumph is that despite all kinds of s***, I have not missed a single workout in the last 29 days, my diet has been super on point without ever once making me want to kill myself, and the reward for my hard work is that I've lost 9.6 lbs in 4 weeks. And I am freaking PSYCHED about it.
I can relate to just about all of this.
So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

I am feeling more and more like an adult now. But also a little apprehensive about all the changes....
With housing or in general?
In general. Just a lot of things coming together all at once.

Got my paper draft virtually unmarked. A quick eye around the classroom showed most other drafts with enough markup to look like NFL playbooks. Score.

My first official attempt at setting people up on a date actually turned out okay! As in, there is going to be a second date next week.

I can use my as either credit or debit, but if I use it as debit, it charges me $.25/transaction (on a separate charge from the charge I made) so I just use it as credit and they don't charge me any extra money and I don't have a whole bunch of $.25 lines on my online checking balance.
That makes no sense at all. It's cheaper for the bank if you run it as debit than if you run it as credit...
That's the way our bank works too. If we run it as debit we pay the fees. if we run it as credit, the store pays the fees. I like letting the store pay the fees.

Also, my achievement is that I got a new job and put in notice at my old one. two weeks from today I'll be officially between jobs! (this is a super strange feeling, since I've been at this job for 10 years, and I started here right after college.)

This could also go in UUDDLRLRBA, but our suite has been keeping smash-score on the wall ever since we got sidewalk chalk, and I've been shut out of a win since then. Tonight, playing 5-stock as Mewtwo (the only character Melee character I've played more than once in the last 8 years) I got 12KOs in a 4 player free-for-all, and a lone tally mark never looked so sweet.

This weekend, I walked up to a woman in a bar and told her she was beautiful. Of course, I prefaced it with "I'm not trying to creep you out or hit on you but..." She took it well, as did her friend who overheard me.

Sounds kind of silly but I dunno. It seems like it's healthy for me to recognize they exist and let them know, in my own way, "Hey, I don't see you as competition."

I got my second credit card pledge, and my first matching gift at my job today. And, had pretty good, informative conversations with two different lawyers that I called up.

Despite my research paper topic being rudely shot down by my Social Psych professor as "impossible"(don't make me go into details about how rude she was being), I went ahead and did it, researched it, and my professor approved my outline. Get at me. I think this Facebook post sums it up succintly:
oh hey there social psych teacher- you RIDICULED me for my Research paper ideas, told me NOT to do it, told me it COULDNT be done, I did it ANYWAYS, and now you're approving my paper outline? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eomJRVGLxX0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I also got a 92 on my last Social Psych test, so again, my professor can suck it.

This is from a while back, but two people asked me on the same day if I was an actual athlete, that played college athletics, at my university. Woah, don't boost my self-esteem too much now.

From a month ago: The first girl I ever asked to a dance said "Yeah". She later had to cancel on me(to volunteer at a children's hospital), but that was still a landmark moment since I never went to any dances before(because I couldnt dance).

Got accepted into a month long summer sophomore pre-law program at my local university. (The person in charge has threatened to "come down and slap" me over email, but alas that's a story for another time.)

Passed my General Martial Arts class Final, where I had to earn my yellow belt by doing the kata and 3-step sparring. Officially a yellow ninja.

One of my pins on pinterest currently has 594 repins and 232 likes.

This should be a triumph for Jan as well, since part of the reason I pinned it was because it reminded me of her.

Made my second dress fitting appointment, like a responsible adult and paying customer, instead of ducking my head and avoiding it until it's beyond too late.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

Why do people keep assuming I'm male?
Plus Google searches take a little longer when you are blind and when I found the site reading description would take even longer.

Even Rei, and Rei's gender is mostly up to personal opinion.

Wow. You need to chill out, I think. We can't magically know people's genders when their user name is gender neutral. I apologize if I missed a post that indicated what your gender is. I can't read and remember everything.

Hey, I'm not angry or upset or anything. I know you can't magically know my gender (in fact I prefer it that way) or my tone of voice so I'm not getting annoyed at anyone, I'm just curious that everyone seems to guess male. It's a bit odd considering, like you said yourself, mine's a gender-neutral name.

The English language kinda sucks at gender neutrallity, dude, and as a result tends to default to masculine forms until given evidence to the contrary. So unless you use pink and purple text in your signature, most people are probably going to use male pronouns.

Glad that's sorted out.
Now we can go back to personal triumphs and so on.

The apocalyptic poem I mentioned earlier, my father has now told me it reminds him of a Bob Dylan song which is a massive complement from him as Dylan's pretty much his favourite artist. :)

21 people liked the photo of my completed quilt on Facebook (which is about 10% of my friends). And yes, I think that fact makes me more proud than just finishing it did. What can I say? I'm a shameless seeker of peer-approval.

When I was on the MAX today an older gentleman and I started talking (he needed to see the map I was sitting in front of to figure out what stop to get off at to get to school. long story short he asked me my college major. I replied Biology and Art. He asked "Pre med?" I said not but I've been thinking about getting a BS in nursing. and he said " you would be a really good nurse because you have such a bright personality and sunny disposition" It made my day!

Are you s***ing me? Did you put magnets around the pan and magnetic fluid in the mixture? Witch-craft? This NEVER happens, at least not to me. When I make pancakes I'm proud if 3 turn out round and well cooked, stuff their relative size. The others are folded torn (and twisted in a secret 4th spacial dimension I SWEAR!) to the point where my plate of pancakes looks like... like, um...
Well, I have no idea what. Also, Eaquae, how is your name pronounced?
