Re: Moving...?
Alright aplication is filled out and submitted. apartment is reserved its an end unit and on the outside of the complex so you walk dowm the stairs and look off the deck onto a small trail with a little wetland nature area. i will walk that trail and its a super easy less then 15 min walk to the MAX station. once i'm on the MAX it is 19 min to the zoo!!! 24 to mich (I waved to him today) and 29 to pioneer square ( basically the center of town and home to the most awesomeist cheese steak sammies). chris has to stop by and sign his aplication after work and we are all set

Anyway, I think it's lovely, Erica. I'm jealous of your hallway. No joke.
Have I ever mentioned I think hallways in a living space are a luxury? It means you have space enough to need some set aside with the sole purpose of allowing you to get from one space to another. Cannot wait to see the after pictures. :)

Re: Moving...?
Erica that place looks really nice, I really like the arch detail as you walk in the front door. I hope you guys have a great time living there
Ok so application is approved, deposit payed and Move in date set for April 21st! Our little hobbit friends also signed their lease and put down a deposit so they will be living in the same complex just across the court yard. We have also found out that we have 3 other close college friends that live within 5-10 minutes of our complex! So it feels even more like going home because our friends will all (most) be there.
So here is the floor plan of the place we are getting (might actually be a mirror image) the apartment on the back is the model they walk you through so we wont have to worry about neighbor noise which is nice. its also an end unit to there is a window in the kitchen between the washer and dryer so there will be extra natural light.
Note it is a 2 bed 1.3 bath.... apparently a sink in the master is .3 of a bath...
the storage on the deck is large enough for us to put our bikes in (and a lot more) so we don't have to store them in the apartment on a rug anymore which is really nice.
AND I found my dream table again. This will be the third time I'm purchasing it and damit I Ill NOT sell it again!!! I know I've told you guys about my dream table before. A light wood table with white tile inlay top, white legs and chairs with white legs and backs and matching wood tone seats. I've owned 2 before, a 4 seater and a 6 seater. now the size (small) of the dining room means a small 4 seat will fit best for everyday use. but having 6 seats when needed was great. I found the perfect table. its a 4 seater with a leaf stored in the table to turn it into a 6 seater when needed, it comes with 4 chairs and I can get others (folding?) and keep them in storage until I need them.
I found it on craig's list, it is in a really nice neighborhood in Seattle (Magnolia) and my FiL is going to pick it up after work on Tuesday!!! I can't wait. They are asking $100 and I'm totally willing to pay that, but I gave him free will to haggle if he wants when he gets there.
without leaf an with chair
with leaf in
Anyways I can post pictures of the inside of the model apartment if you want... or just wait until I move in.
I'm super excited to move!

Re: Moving...?
So I was super productive this Morning when it came to the apartment (and other things)
I called them and changed he move in date from Sat the 21st to Sunday the 22nd. We have to be at the apartment on move in day between noon and 4, and while we could do this there would have been no wiggle room. That and set our lease term for 6 months.
Now Chris will take the train home from Portland to Seattle on Friday night. Saturday we will get a uhaul and Chris and his Dad will load it. Then we leave Sunday morning and have plenty of time to get down there during the check in window and be unloaded before dark. This ALSO saves us $28 dollars because they will prorate the rent for one fewer day. Savings I will be putting towards pizza, soda, and beer for whoever shows up to help Chris unload the truck.
I set up transfer of the Electric to our name starting the 22nd, and out first bill wont be due until June 13th so plenty of time for us to settle in. The complex says they will transfer the WSG automatically when we move and and we should be billed within the first month and a half for that as well. I also called the comcast rep that works with the complex and set up an install for Monday the 23rd at 10:00 so I shouldn't be without internet for more then a night which is always nice. That and I think because of the size of the complex they have some kind of deal because it WAY cheaper then what the guy from the power company quoted me.
As far as furnishing the apartment,It all seems to be falling into place. We have everything we need for the bedroom, though we are looking at upgrading in the nearish future. And once my Fil picks up the table the dinning room is taken care of. we have a TV/TV stand. And my Mil is letting us borrow her green couch so we have time to find something nice once we move in. So we are pretty well set as far as initial furniture goes, So we won't be scrambling to find things while living on the floor. A very nice feeling.

Re: Moving...?
I am not looking forward to packing up and moving all my stuff into storage for the summer. After being in this apartment for almost two full years, I've accumulated a lot of junk. No idea where it will all go.
I used to hate gravity because it would not let me fly. Now I realize it is gravity that lets me stand.

Congrats, Teresa!!!
On a different note, oh man, I have hit the utter, terrified, complete terror over moving 1300 miles away. My parents will be super far away! My friends will be far away! What do I do if I need help? How do I make friends? Nate and I want to start having children soon... completely without local support! SCARY.

I wish I had some advice. I don't. I just know exactly what you mean.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

I've moved into our new place, a few months ago actually, but we're still slowly getting it into shape.

I don't think my bed has been made in probably a good 10 or so years. Even after I wash the sheets, I put the fitted sheet on and just kind pile the rest. One day, if our bedroom is actually clean and the bed miraculously gets made, I will share a picture of that as well.
The pictures of you guys are adorable : )

And yet, despite you being my future wife and getting fresh with me, you've never let me "hit that," to use the street vernacular. My statement stands.
