Cassandra over at EA posted an image of Kylin getting a 3D body scan for costume fitting and other purposes - I'd guess to create a digital body double for some aspects of Battle Room sequences. Pretty cool:

As I mentioned over at E/A--this is not used for costume fitting. This is used to develop mapping images and skin-tone database info to allow Dink's CG character to be created and "painted."

So, it IS a 3D body scan, but they actually get "depth" information (light refraction and absorption into the skin, including ears, etc.).
