Baby Pool
Hey! All pwebbers of a gambling/speculative nature!
It's actually time to start making your guesses on when Little Bit will make his big entrance!
So. The due date is Monday, February 27th. Two weeks before is Monday, February 13th, and two weeks after is Monday, March 12. He's considered at term any time within those dates.
Now, in the interest of fairness, I must tell you that the later you guess into March, the longer your odds are. Although my sugars have been controlled enough that I don't think they'll push to induce me really early, I have no doubt my ob/gyn is going to disapprove of allowing me much leeway after my due date. Also, this kid is big -- not scary big, but 71st percentile -- and I doubt he'll want to hang out for long in here, even if he is my first. (First babies have a reputation for being tardy.)
Place your bets! Winner gets, um, bragging rights. And maybe, if I'm up to it, a special picture at some point after newborn fog has lifted.
Other Possible Bets:
Will he get here naturally or require induction?
Will Mama go through the birth naturally, get systemic drugs, or give up and get the epidural? (I WANT to do it naturally, but am in doubt of my ability to do so if I am induced. But who knows? Not like I've ever done this before.)
How many hours of labor?
And... GO!

February 26th!
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

February 29th! It's not every year you can have a Leap Day baby. Though I wouldn't complain about March 5th, so we could be twins.
As for the other bets, I say he'll come naturally, you'll do it without drugs, and that you'll be in labor for 16 hours.

I'll go early with Feb. 20th. And I'll guess he'll really be a boy. Haha.

Good point. Anyone who gets the exact date and time will get naming rights.*If anyone gets the exact date and time they should get naming rights.
*As long as the name they pick is Atticus Nyle.
And I'll guess he'll really be a boy. Haha.
We now have three sonogram pictures of my child's winkie. If he turns out to be a girl, it'll be a modern medical miracle. And I'll have to listen to my cousin saying, "Told you so." So, I really hope he's still a boy in a month or so.

How many hours of labor?
February 13th, 9AM CST.
Naturally
Epidural
17 hours of labor
P.S. I know nothing about this, so I don't know what's reasonable for labor.

ummm feb 21 (no one has it yet right????)
Natural no induction needed
Mama will be a trooper and go through with no meds (or very little meds no epidural because she is kick ass!)
Labor 7 hour if not induced and 20 if induced because induction sucks

Oh yeah, you use nitrous to speed up the birth. To shift it into high gear.

Yeah, i really doubt it will be available for me. Even though I'd love to have that as a possible way to go. Stupid US.

I have no idea why. But he's got it on the calendar, time and all.

Footrubs! Peer-reviewed research has shown that receiving foot massages can induce and/or speed up labour! And even if it doesn't work, you still get a footrub!

Re: Baby Pool
When I massaged my friend through labor, I accidentally relaxed her too much while working on her back and stopped her labor. I headed to the feet and worked the uterus reflexology points (about halfway between the medial maleolus and your heal on both feet) and restarted her labor in a snap! It really works!Footrubs! Peer-reviewed research has shown that receiving foot massages can induce and/or speed up labour! And even if it doesn't work, you still get a footrub!
Unfortunately, working my own points to try and put my body into labor never worked. Your body HAS to be ready for it to work. You can't shoot a gun that's not loaded, and the trigger of reflexology won't work unless your body is primed, but it never hurts to try!
Reflexology charts
You can see the uterus point on the bottom picture.
