I went on a semi-date with a girl today who planned on naming her son Ender, it turned out, before she realized that the movie might be coming out and that would be awkward. But she almost did! So that was neat.

You may want to delete this post. It could be used as evidence when her MIL disappears.

Re: Complete Randomness
Every time when the semester ends, I am filled with an irrational sense of paranoia that I forgot a final or some big assignment for one of my classes. I just know I'm going to be halfway through the plane flight home, remember a final, and fail my classes. And just because it hasn't happened any other semester and I've been through all my classes in my head multiple times to make sure, doesn't mean it can't happen this time.
I used to hate gravity because it would not let me fly. Now I realize it is gravity that lets me stand.

I'm not sure if that is funnier for those that are actually familiar with MtG, but I enjoyed it pretty well myself, regardless :D

Re: Complete Randomness
With all the hundreds of poems that I have memorized and can recite at the drop of a hat, how on earth can it be that CASEY AT THE BAT is not one of them?
I must remedy that immediately.

I'm not a fan of Bic Macs but the idea of a Bic Mac Snack Wrap grosses me out. Something about tortilla with ground beef that sounds disgusting, even if I do eat beef (carne asada) with them, though the tortilla is corn for that, not flour.

I know you mean Big Mac but I keep picturing a Bic Mac as some kind of lighter/hamburger combo.

Re: Complete Randomness
I've been struggling for years with how to identify my religious beliefs. Up until a few weeks ago, I was trying to find a place for myself on the terribly broken model of Theists on one side, Atheists on the other and Agnostics in the middle.
It finally clicked that it makes a lot more sense to graph Atheism-Theism on one axis and Agnosticism-Gnosticism on another axis. This makes life so much simpler. I just feel like an idiot for not realizing my mistake sooner.

They smoke a pork shoulder or other hunk of meat and then it's cut up or pulled apart. When prepared on a smaller scale the hand pulled pork is more common. Larger scale servings usually cut it up with knives.
Re: Complete Randomness
Early on in my Ender's Ansible news I posted about a family that gave their child the middle name Ender, after Ender's Game of course. It's one of the most popular posts and since then I've gotten plenty of emails from different people telling me they want to or already have named their kid Ender. I think this is neat lolI went on a semi-date with a girl today who planned on naming her son Ender, it turned out, before she realized that the movie might be coming out and that would be awkward. But she almost did! So that was neat.

My cousin named his second son Ender. I'm a little sad he wasn't a third, but it works well enough I suppose.Early on in my Ender's Ansible news I posted about a family that gave their child the middle name Ender, after Ender's Game of course. Because sometimes your Pweb friends don't post things to Pweb and they need to be shared: http://imgur.com/a/9rngP" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I think they're pretty damn cool. (ETA: Not to imply these were done by a Pwebber...just that one shared the link with me and I thought everyone should see them.)
