Dear You and You,
I'm super excited to hear that you both got the gifts! We love you and you mean a lot to this community. This is the absolute least we could do for you.

Dear All Of You,
I'm still here, lurking. Haven't posted in a while for some reasons I can't get into right now. Just know that I haven't left you again, I'll be back, hopefully soon.

Dear you two mommies,
I'm so excited you got your presents. It made me tear up a little just thinking about it, since it meant so much when you all did it for me. I hope you can put it to good use!

Dear Tigers,
Thank you for the wrist splint. Please tell your Daddy to stop buying me stuff like that right now when I say I don't need it, though. I know he says it was you, but we both know it was him. And we can't afford it. Hopefully we will soon.

Dear you,
Don't act surprised that I'm freelancing. If you take a writer and make her answer your phones and run your schedule, she's going to look elsewhere for stuff to do.
That being said, I like it here. So stop worrying that I'm leaving. I'm just supplementing my life, financially and intellectually.
Regards,
Me

Drop the attitude or you'll see what a hard-ass I can be. You aren't experienced enough to be acting like this.

Dear You,
You'll never see this but it's pretty much my standard response to things of this nature, by which I mean, it's what I say to people when I feel like they've returned to their "normal" selves after a stint of uncharacteristic behavior: There you are, Peter!
So, yes. There you are, indeed. I've missed you, even if you were there the whole time.
The crazy girl who has shouted "babe," "love", and "give the man a hug, he needs a hug" at you for years,

Dear You,
This feels like a very Carrie Bradshaw, very selfish thing to say but here it is anyway: You have to forgive me.
I need that from you. I am begging for that from you.

Everyone I've talked to from outside the US seems to hate peanut butter (haven't talked to Canadians about it; now I assume they get peanut butter ;). Trying to explain things like pb&js and reese's peanut butter cups just results in looks of disgust.I knew you didn't get peanut butter

When I went to Africa they made peanut butter soup... it was basically chicken soup (no noodles) with a few spoons on peanut butter added right at the end, I seemed really odd in principle but It was really good!Everyone I've talked to from outside the US seems to hate peanut butter (haven't talked to Canadians about it; now I assume they get peanut butter . Dear You,
My bake sale on Monday raised $370 dollars. I coordinated the whole thing.
If your bocce tournament wasn't advertised or prepared for, whose fault is that? I don't care that you're a political appointee and I'm an intern. Stop talking down to me, and stop expecting me to do your work because you don't have a clue about anything.
Also, stop coming behind my desk without asking me, while I'm sitting here. It gives me the creeps. I don't come in your office without permission.
UPDATE: I'm sorry, but you did what?! You told my COWORKERS that you didn't think I knew what I was doing running a bocce tournament? This is YOUR tournament.
I am so furious I can't even speak.

Darling Pweb Family,
We bought our carseat using the gift card you sent. It's exactly what I wanted. Can I tell you how much it meant not to have to wonder how on earth we'd afford the cheapest model, but instead to be able to pick the one that seems safest? No, I don't think I can tell you how much that meant. Wish us well on the installation.

Dear Yous,
Anyone interested in my Chicago adventures so far can PM me their email address if they want access to the blog (which I started years ago, so it's not meant to keep Pwebbers out because of crap months ago); I promise, I'll let anyone in who wants in and I only keep it locked because I don't want random strangers stumbling upon it. I won't have time to post the updates to more than one place and since I wanted something to house all them, from the very beginning, that place wins. Otherwise, I'll do smaller, less picture-y updates here after Friday.

Dear You,
The difference between you and me is, I make my dreams come true and get what I want. If you must hate me, hate me for that.

Dear Internet Sites and Natural Childbirth Books,
I kind of hate you all. You're so damned invested in making the case for why pitocin is evil, you completely fail to provide any useful wdvice for what to do if it's necessary, or any hope for having an otherwise med-free birth. In conclusion, f*** you and your scary stories and your condescension for anything not entirely med-free.
Damn hippies.

Re: Dear You 2.0
Dear you,
As I'm sure you are aware by now, the only information out there on childbirth and rearing is for ideal situations. For anyone and everyone who cannot have that ideal situation, there is nothing but condemnation and hatred, and nobody seems to realise that maybe sometimes people don't choose their situation. In my brief, one-time experience, though, things can turn out pretty dang okay.
So yeah. If they're actively opposed to being helpful, they're wrong and not worth the time of day.

Re: Dear You 2.0
Thanks, you guys.
The good thing is that I have found lots of individual stories about using pitocin without other meds. Those give me some hope and encouragement.
What makes me so angry are the way infotmational sites handle it. I have so many questions I think they COULD be helpful with. Are there particular protocols more conducive to an otherwise med-free birth? How much freedom is it reasonable to ask for from the monitor (and, thus, the bed? Etc. Non-natural birth sites obviously have no investment in helping, and natural sites are, frankly, too busy fear-mongering. Which, I am sure, is what they'd say my doctors are doing. But I trust my doctors, I believe this is the right thing, so why no help achieving the most natural birth I can? Answer: zealotry and Brent's observation.
For the record, we aren't doing this so baby won't be big. We're doing it because diabetes this difficult to control does substantially raise the risk of stillbirth, even though the overall risk of that is still really low. But f*** you, judgy-mcjudgies for airily dismissing that risk as one I should be willing to take.
Okay, this wasn't really Dear You, was it?
Dear Yous,
Forgive the crazy typos. Posting via phone is slow and difficulr.

Dear you,
Those are some of the exact reasons that I loathe all parenting books and refuse to read them. People and the world aren't "one-size-fits-all" and I find that if I trust my intuition and advice from trusted people that things work out. Kids and bodies are resilient, so trust your gut and your research and your knowledge and everything will be ok. It will be ok even if it's not the way you planned it. You'll do great, and I wish I could ease your fears.
Love,
Steph

Dear you,
This is why I don't discuss anything of real importance with you. Everything turns into a drama filled argument. I wish you could react like a normal person for once.

Dear You,
One of the postsecrets this week really reminds me of you. I can't really ask you about it, but I'm so curious!
