Songs That Are Stuck In My Head

Postby starlooker » Sun Oct 23, 2011 12:51 pm

Thread title is for what it says. Got a song stuck in your head? Tell us about it.

Right now, and for the past couple of days, I have had "Soft Kitty" from Big Bang Theory stuck in my head.

Now and then it fades, but whenever a cat falls asleep in my lap, it revives.

"Soft Kitty, warm Kitty, little ball of fur..."
There's another home somewhere,
There's another glimpse of sky...
There's another way to lean
into the wind, unafraid.
There's another life out there...

I'n not annoyed by most of the ones in my head.

Today, my head is singing "The Perfect Country and Western Song," aka You Never Even Called Me by My Name.
Yay, I'm a llama again!

Oooh, good one. I wouldn't mind having that in my head, either.

Most of the time I like my brain's mental soundtrack. It's just now and then that the station will not change, or I'm stuck with a commercial jingle or something.

What would you do-hoo-hoo for a Klondike bar? Is probably the worst.

I've got the "I'm a hoodie ninja" song stuck my head from the Honda Civic commercial. Although, I thought it said "I'm a ruddy ninja" until I just looked up the lyrics.

Now I have the Old Navy commercial, "Don't jiggle it/When you wiggle it!" song stuck in my head. I would prefer to return to "Soft Kitty," please.

Nobody's Asian in the Movies from the Dr. Horrible Commentary. I belt this one around the apartment frequently. It's been in my head all day.

well I have snozzed and lost

I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

Man, those commentary songs are seriously good at getting stuck in one's head. I get "Better than Neil" in my head all the time.

I, I love you like a love song, baby
I, I love you like a love song, baby
I, I love you like a love song, baby

And I keep hitting re-peat-peat-peat-peat-peat-peat
If I hear it once it's in my head all day.

Maneater.

It was playing in my bowling class this morning and it's been stuck in my head ever since.

"Nothing Suits Me Like a Suit"

Which would be awesome, except that's the only line I really know from it, so it's not the whole song or even a verse in my head. Argh.

For the past two days or so, the instrumental from the Viagra commercial* and "Colors of the Wind" have been alternating in my head. Both are irritating the everliving crap out of me.

*You know the commercial. The one about how, "Hey! You're middle aged! So, you know s*** and you get s*** taken care of! So, why do you have ED when you could just get a stupid pill and be banging like you used to?"

Since seeing The Walking Dead, I now have "How do you solve a problem like Sophia?" stuck in my head to the tune of "How do you solve a problem like Maria" from The Sound of Music.

I'm Not Gonna Call You, by The Films. It's a ballad about a guy who likes showing up at a girl's house for "quality time" but doesn't respect her enough to call her. I find it wryly amusing, since I dated "that guy."
But I'm not gonna call you/ I'm not gonna write/ But I'll show up at your door in the middle of the night/ And every time you think that I might just come around/ I'll come up with something new i can do to let you down
Yeah. Lovely Monday morning music.

For nearly a week now, I've had the "WKRP in Cincinnati" theme stuck in my head. It was fun at first, but is finally reaching the point of crazy-making. At least Atticus doesn't seem to mind that it's on heavy lullaby rotation

WKRP! I haven't thought of that show in years, I miss Johnny Fever! Oh I have that "little talks" song by Of Monsters And Men on endless repeat in my already cluttered mind.

I feel musical shame, but also a slight bit of defensive Starcraft-loving pride. In either case, this song won't leave my head (been here for a week).
