I've noticed the board is loading a bit slower for me than on the old board. Don't know if that's just growing pains, or the redirect (though I've changed my bookmark now), or if it's for some other reason.

Slower for me as well, but I thought maybe it was just computer problems on my end.

Interesting. Have you tried comparing load times between different themes?

I don't notice any difference in load times. I'm using subsilver2.

Well, I did test all the themes earlier in the day, and can't remembering noticing a particular difference between themes. But I did notice that when I switched themes, it took even longer for the board to load.

Just tested again, and didn't notice any difference in load times for different themes. But the board is loading a little faster for me right now.

Nope, you have avatar permissions, Satya. But if you can't see others avatars, go to your User Control Panel and make sure that under Board Preferences>Display Options, you have Yes selected for viewing avatars.

Are you particularly attached to that? I sort of suggested/asked for it to be changed to something else last night.

I was talking to zero awhile back and thought of My Little Brony, which is neither original or difficult to think up but he seems happy enough with binary, so...

I know the Launchie thing was a joke and kind of deserved at the time but you've been really awesome. You should have something more awesome if you want it.

I didn't mention this when you brought it up before, but I'd actually prefer to not be consulted if someone wants to change my title. Just go change it and don't tell me; I'd rather be surprised (which disqualifies the suggestion above).

Just by the by: technically there has been a Dash-related avatar on the board since April... though it is admittedly subtle.

As proof that I've been really busy the last week or so, I just logged onto my main computer at home and it still had a browser tab with PWeb 3.0 up. It scared me for a second, because I thought maybe we reverted somehow.

Pssst. This is still bugging me. Can we do it? Please?

Also, I really wish we could have the chat thing integrated with an IRC channel, or the like, so I could hang out there without having to keep a browser open!

I don't have time just at the moment to poke around in the themes. I will say that there are Quote buttons in Topic Review box. New Reply > Login > Quote isn't that taxing.

And I know nothing about setting up or integrating with IRC servers. I can poke around with it a bit the next time I have a few empty hours, but no promises.

Question, not pressing, or anything.

Does this board software allow anything like 'rep Points' or 'Post Likes'? So many times I don't want to create a new post, but click some indicator that I loved what was said. I've seen this on other forums (which then has a number indicator on the post showing how many 'liked' or gave a 'reputation point' to the post. No problem if it's not an easily-integratable feature. Just something fun for added value that I sort of miss when I come here :)

I hate the idea of turning the board into facebook. I think it's better just to post that you like it. Otherwise, it's not really a message board, is it?

I searched for something like this when we were migrating. There are couple mods, but they're not terribly well executed.

There are already a fair number of posts consisting of nothing but a quote and a :stamp: . It would make more sense to have a Like/+1/upvote/ :stamp: button.

I participate on a few boards with this option. They are very much still worlds away from anything like Facebook. It is a way to show support and agreement - and to participate - when there really is nothing more to add. There are many times I would have liked to have done something like 'I agree', or, 'That's funny!' - but didn't, because the responses were already flooded with things like that, and I didn't want to flood theboard more, or take the effort to do something so minimal. It leaves more room on the board itself for discussion, with a fun little side icon for the head-nodders and high-fivers - which are also an important part of the community, methinks ;)

It's also perhaps a gateway drug for lurkers...

I participate in a board with that option and I dislike it, to be honest.

It tells me how many times a poster has liked a post and has had a post liked, but there's no way to keep track of the actual posts that have been "liked" unless you just happen to notice it at the time. And it's not that noticeable unless you make a point to look for it.

I'm not sure, but I believe new threads work like any other post: you can delete it until someone replies to it.
