I've had Adele's 21 on repeat for the past week or so. It's been on my iPod for a while now, but just got around to really listening to it and now I can't stop!

Most people won't get the relevance of this one, so I took the time to dig up a version on youtube. Aren't you guys special?

Somehow stumbled upon Anika Rose's performance of I Can Do Better Than That and I am so smitten. I have always, always loved this song, but I am enjoying this version so much more than Sherie Rene Scott's rendition on the Off-Broadway Cast recording.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

Did Breaking Benjamin release a greatest hits CD or something? Their song "Blow Me Away" from the Halo 2 soundrack has been the radio a lot recently for some reason.

Such a fun song: Junior Senior - Move Your Feet

Such a silly video and coincidentally, my plans for tomorrow (not doing anything, that is, NOT reenacting that video): Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song

For the past, like, month or so I've been waking up with "(If You Want It)" by Relient K in my head. Probably because it's a really awesome and really powerful song, with a seemingly simple piano part that, despite my best efforts, I cannot find written music for anywhere in the entire internet, and have a very hard time picturing the parts to without it.

I also can't find a decent version of it on YouTube due to a somewhat hilarious reason: it is almost exactly similar to another track on the album "This is the End". Both have identical lyrics in parts, "This is the End" features the exact same piano part during its intro, and they are back-to-back on the album. However, last.fm has a preview, if you're interested. The album Forget and Not Slow Down is probably my favorite album by them, at the moment, but probably due to my own mixed feelings about Christianity in general and the fact that the album is almost entirely just about Matt Thiessen's breakup with his then-fiance.

Death Cab's new cd "Codes and Keys" has been a staple on my way to work for the past couple of weeks. Especially "Monday Morning".

I finally bought an iPod and have been loving it. I have about 1,500 songs. The only problem is that when I shuffle about every other song is from the Beatles. I really can't believe I'm saying this is a problem.

I didn't know you were such a big Beatles fan. I think I know almost every Beatles song, maybe not by title but if I hear it. Sometimes I'll start singing one and my husband doesn't believe it's a real song, let alone a Beatles song.

I am a huge Beatles fan. I have their entire collection on there which explains why they pop up so often. Not really a problem, but I shuffle for variety! I'm sure it will be less of an issue when I get everything I want on there. But yeah, dressed as a Beatle for Halloween one year, got to see Sir Paul in concert last summer which was like the best night ever. Definitely a huge Beatles freak :D

Here's a question, oh P-Web, related to the Beatles: what is your favorite album, and your approximate Beatles-fanitude?

The explanation for the question always comes off as elitist and snobby, but I really don't judge based off of your answer! I just am curious.

I honestly don't know the songs by album. I don't really own or listen to more than a handful of cds. I learned their songs by growing up listening to my dad sign them while playing his piano and guitar. He played music out at restaurants and bars. I also listened to their albums that my brother owned, when we were younger.

Oh, and level of fanitude? I don't really know. I mean, they are in my top five favorite bands/singers and I think I know all of their songs but since I don't own any albums, I wouldn't consider myself an uber fan.

I'm so low in the fanitude levels, I might be off the charts. Besides Help, I learned about most Beatles songs through pop culture and am still -yes, still- figuring out some songs I've long known about are theirs.

Conversation a few years ago:

Me: "The Wonder Years Song [something something something]"
Person: "...you mean the Beatles' song?"
Me: "Oh, is that a Beatles song?"

The movie Can't Buy Me Love introduced me to that song, 16 Candles for Birthday, Peggy Sue Got Married for She Loves You, etc.

That's like when I went to my first Billy Joel concert (I was around 12yo) and he starting singing My Life and I said, "I didn't know he sang the Bosom Buddies song!" :)

My mom is a pretty big Beatles fan, though she's a few years too young to be one of those screaming girls you see in old videos. I've probably heard all their group and solo songs because of her. I don't know what my favorite album would be since, like Nomi, I don't really associate the songs with their original albums.

Haha, that makes me realize that, despite my sudden explosion of love for the Beatles in college, I still sometimes have those same moments where I go "holy crap, that's one of their songs?" My dad would always pick out "I Will" on guitar and sing along and I've always thought it's one of the few songs that he's good at singing. It was only a year ago that it came up on my iPod and I was like "Oh hey!"

The Beatles are far and away my favorite band. As for favorite album, it depends on when you ask me. Much the same way that my favorite book in the Speaker series changes. I used to be one of those weirdos that like Xenocide the best in the series. But, for the Beatles right now, it would be Rubber Soul.

Lil B's new album. Specific songs include

Yes, I'm just as confused as any of you(who listen to the music and) who've heard it. I'm currently not sure if this world I'm in is real reality.
It's like if Voldemort suddenly turned out to be the hero in Harry Potter, that would be less surprising than some of the songs on it.

well I was enjoying the Game of Thrones soundtrack enough that I moved on to the next soundtrack, Chrono Trigger. :-p

Also been listening to David Cook's new Album (really good) and the new Foo Fighters (couple tracks I love, will see if the others grow on me as much as the last album did).

We used to have a place at the mall, in the 80s, called "Soundtracks". It had recording studio type things where you could go in and sing along to whatever song you wanted and they would record your voice in place of the lead singer. And then you could buy it on a cassette tape (yes, a tape!). When we were like 10 and 11, my dad paid for my brother and I to do it. He sang "Set on You" and I sang "Greatest Love of All" by Whitney Houston. I really wish I still had those recordings.
