Are these things you guys have actively avoided or just haven't gotten around to?
I think I must try a lot of stuff because I can't think of anything off the top of my head. Maybe that's why I'm good at Trivial Pursuit.

Fight Club just never came up. I didn't care to read HP. Dr Who was just never on here until recently and I really don't watch much TV as it is. And I've never really liked seafood - and a few years ago I found I was highly allergic to shellfish anyways, so I won't be doing so any time soon. Are these things you guys have actively avoided or just haven't gotten around to?

Okay, well I certainly don't like shellfish in general and *now* I am allergic, so I don't eat it. But in the past I have been forced to at least try mussels, shrimp and lobster. Crab cakes were the only type that I actually liked but are what finally triggered my allergy.

Never seen the original Star Wars trilogy.
Never seen any movie with Kevin Bacon. Not on purpose. It's just kept working out that way. I've gone through his filmography and checked. There are some movies that I meant to see or was going to see, but none that I have actually seen.

I haven't seen most Pixar movies, including:
- Finding Nemo
- Up
- Cars
- Wall-E
- Toy Story 2 & 3 (I think I saw the first one some time)
- A Bug's Life
- Ratatouille
And probably others. It's not avoidance, just indifference.

Apparently these things are popular:
The name Richard Dreyfuss seems familiar, but I have no idea who it is (edit: maybe it's just the last name and I'm confusing it with Julia Louis-Dreyfus?). According to wikipedia I haven't seen any movie he's been in besides Jaws (and that was a while ago... both for me when I saw it, and obviously even longer for Richard, so I assume he looks much different now anyway). Never heard of What About Bob?, and I had no idea Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead was a movie. The name Richard Dreyfuss came up and she had never heard of him. I pulled up his picture on my phone and she still did not recognize him. I said he was in the movie "What About Bob?", which she had never seen (!). And then I could not remember after trying really hard, who was the costar of the movie (darn Topamax!). So, I was able to look up on imdb with my phone and find Bill Murray, who she had also never heard of but did recognize upon seeing.

Maybe check your settings under "Profile" at the top of the page. There is an option to "Always allow BB code" which should be set to yes, that is what makes the codes in brackets work like quote and text formatting codes. There is an option just under that one "Always enable smilies" if you set it to yes then there will be graphical smilies, if you set it to no they will be text only.when i do that though, it looks different. not like your guys' quotes. I saw the quote buttons, i just though i was doing them wrong or something. same with my emoticons...
You can enable/disable each of these while making a new post with the checkboxes under the post window, just for that post.

I've seen "Finding Nemo", "Monsters, Inc.", "The Incredibles", and "Cars". I liked "Finding Nemo", "Monsters, Inc." and "The Incredibles" were alright, I did not like "Cars" at all.

Of the things people listed, I also haven't experienced:
Dr Who
seafood other than one type of fish that was gross
James Bond or many other pop culture classics (Pulp Fiction, Godfather, Scarface)
Cars
Toy Story series (I know the gist of the story and know it would depress me and worsen my hoarding habits the same way Brave Little Toaster did).
I've never read LotR and don't plan to
Same for Star Trek (the tv series)
Jersey Shore or most other MTV programming these days
Keeping Up with the Kardashians or any other type of reality programming these days
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

The only reason I had heard of anything related to the Kardashians (before they were 'famous') is that the mom is married to Bruce Jenner, the Olympic athlete, and I had heard of him.

When I first heard about Keeping up with the Kardashians I thought it was about Cardassians.

I think they're famousish because their dad/the mom's first husband was the defense attorney for OJ Simpson. So, they're wealthy and tied to something memorable which is about all it takes to be noteworthy now. Then Kim Kardashian had her sex tape with Ray J which Kris managed to spin into actual fame.

Hahahaha. I freaking love this idea. Now I want to make a reality show spoof using star trek footage. I wonder how much storage space it would take to rip my mom's DVD collection...
