I think it's the perspective on the index finger - it's not clear why it's so short.
It looks wrong to me, and I can't figure out where to fix it
the thumb seems long to me, in combination with the index finger being short, otherwise it's fantastic. perhaps try to use a softer line on the fingernail to just hint at the color change... not that you're looking for help.
Well, now that you guys pointed that out, it seems obvious. I might try fixing that...then again, I may not. I'm always worried I'll make sketches look worse if I try to fix mistakes. I certainly appreciate the help; so long as it's not mean-spirited, I've never minded pointers.

there are some of my creative hobbies i would like to share with you all, even if i don't keep up with doing them.
I'll look forward to this. :)

Heh heh, don't get me wrong. I have NO IDEA how one would go about actually fixing anything. I'm not a great sketch artist myself or anything! But glad you have some ideas!

well, part of the process is fixing mistakes and actually getting them to look better. one of those things that takes practice. ;)

i'm looking forward to it too.
Two of my favorite "webcomics" update almost never, just by the way, and I still check them every day. A webcomic doesn't require a fixed schedule to exist. Just saiyan!
And what the boy said about webcomics...though I understand all too well how easy it is to talk yourself out of spending some time on your craft(s).
i know. and i've considered it. i might try it. the problem is that it's hard to carry a storyline if it's not on a regular schedule. i've thought about writing/drawing a complete story before putting up to counter the problem. i'm still thinking on it. perhaps after the divorce.

but yeah, i'm very good at talking myself out of doing things.

Don't you dare speak reason to me. I won't have it. Not one bit.

Improvement...practice. *snort*

Tonight I completed the first of the knitting projects for Wee Brontosaurus!

wouldn't the melon rot in the mail? or even if you put a fragile sticker on it, you might end up with mash in a cap...

Those are ah-MAZING! I love them! You should seriously sell some on etsy. I'd order a custom egg balancer from you. :)

I actually thought about selling them on etsy. But they're practically free to make. I'd be happy to just give them away. I have no idea how I'd portray egg balancing. I'll have to think on it.

I think what I like most about them is that no matter how detailed I get with them they're still only hinting at what they are.

Speaking of etsy, I highly suggest you all look at my sister's etsy shop. She has a small business making jewelry. the etsy shop is Findingfelicityllc.

I'll post a proper link when I'm not on my phone.

Wow! She has some fun stuff! I love the Whirly Gig earrings and necklace.

Have you seen Brian's pics? That might help. And I don't mind paying something.

*snort* It is but no worries! It's not the size of your paperclip that matters, it's what you do with it and clearly you know how to handle paperclips.

This could not have come at a worse time; I was struck by inspiration at work for a new project and it is going to be roughly 12'x12'. I'm sort of not at liberty to say what it is specifically yet but if that creates any sort of piqued interest, rest assured, maybe two people will be interested in the final product and they aren't the sort of people who frequent this thread regularly/at all.

The point is, I'm excited but nervous/overwhelmed by it and it made me realize how much I want a dedicated creative space whenever and wherever it is I finally settle down on my own. Because I'll be tackling this in more or less 4'x4' blocks and my room is not really up to the task. I'm praying to Bob Ross that I finish this in the next two weeks, but preferably by next Saturday.

Wanted: Drafting table or other counter/flat surface space.

I've been so busy knitting baby items! My most recent (and so far favourite) is a little bonnet - the pattern says it should fit a baby, but was quite unspecific as to exact size. And anyway I used a different weight of yarn, yadda yadda, so who knows when it will fit.

Image

That's the in-progress shot. SOULLESS TOTORO WANTS YOUR SOUL.

Image

And the finished! So adorable! I'm completely bragging, but I think my end result is way better than the pattern.

That's seriously cool, Steph. I never would have thought about that; people's creativity never ceases to amaze me.

I could probably give that a try soon. One can never have enough projects (as proven by my being in the middle of a brand new one right now! Just waiting for the paint to dry to move on to the next part.). I think I have craft-ADHD.

ETA:

Touch-ups needed, wet paint at the bottom, but more or less what I was working on:
