Confession: I'm getting tired of going through the indignity of peeing on a plastic stick and only getting one line to show for my effort.
There's another home somewhere,
There's another glimpse of sky...
There's another way to lean
into the wind, unafraid.
There's another life out there...

Have you tried peeing on a plastic stick in advance (ovulation test)? Either way, I'm sorry, and that sucks.

Um... it may be that I posted that a wee bit prematurely. So to speak.

What happened was that I took an early pregnancy test a couple of days ago, which turned out negative, and even though I know that early they only detect 68% of pregnancies, apparently, it's the third month we've been doing the not-quite-planning but not-quite-preventing thing, only this month we were a bit more planful and because I've always had my periods so regularly, I kind of assumed that the first time I had really put any effort into it, I would get knocked up. Anyhow, point is, I was about to go take another one and was kind of planning in advance to be disappointed.

And I kind of ended up getting 1.5 lines. That is, the one line to show the test worked and one really, really faint line, but definitely a line.

So... I'm not quite sure if I am or not, but at least I have learned a lesson in being careful what you wish for.

A faint line is a positive...

Do you have an appointment with the MD yet?

I know that, intellectually, but I'm half convinced that I hallucinated it. :)
Even though, yes, my husband saw it, too.

It's not so much the positive that is making me not want to get too excited as how very, very early it is. So, no hullaballoo, please, yet. I was not exactly planning to find out I was pregnant right after I posted that I wasn't.

Wow, just wow. And more *hugs* but for happy this time. I left off any exclamation points so that wouldn't be mistaken for hullaballoo. :D

I'm really, really looking forward to our day trip tomorrow, and I'm just hoping the expense of it doesn't come back to haunt us, now that it looks 95% that Rei has work. I've become so worried and intense about money lately, and I hate that. A lot.

*hugs* for Kirsten. I've seen you with my kids....you're going to be a fabulous mom. :)

Ali, I hate how money always seems to rule our lives. It's very frustrating. I hope you can kick back and enjoy the day trip!

*double post*

A girl in my anatomy lab does not shave her legs. It kind of grosses me out. I apparently care a whole lot more about appearances than I would like to, which is a bit of a blow to my high opinion of myself.

So, confession: I am a shallow person. And this pretty much only upsets me because I like to think that I'm not what I am.

Confession: I do not shave my legs unless I am planning to wear a dress/skirt or shorts. In fact, most girls I know do the same. Are we weird? I think I'm just lazy. Also, I don't like shaving. I tend to nick easily.

I'm the same way, Erica. Maybe it comes from living so close to Boulder?

I wear pants year-round and the only times I wear shorts are in non-public settings. I still go crazy if I don't shave, at a minimum, once a week. To each his own.

I'm awful about plucking, though, for instance and I have a whole lot of eyebrow that is dark enough to be noticeable, so it's not like I can pretend it's not there.
So raise your glass if you are wrong in all the right ways, all my underdogs.

Well, I do wear a skirt every sunday, so I do get a weekly shave in.

I think I am going to have to start shaving more regularly because the feeling of the hair moving while working out is getting to me, lol.

Ugh, eyebrows. I think I have finally conquered mine back in to a decent shape. They were looking pretty bad for awhile since I wanted to let some of them come back in so I could reshape them, and it was very hard not to attack them with tweezers because the erratic hairs stand out.
So don't go worrying about me

I go a few weeks without shaving sometimes (especially in the winter), so I don't think that's weird at all. Usually it's at least once a week for church, more so in the summer. This girl just had a full growth, like she hadn't shave in months, if ever. And that just blows my mind.

I shave my legs every day. I think the last time I skipped was when I was sick and I could hardly shower, let alone shave! When I don't shave I get this really achy feeling thought my legs that I can't stand, so i'm really really good about shaving.

I also almost never pluck my eyebrows. I have this little razor thing for them that when I feel like it's getting a little too fuzzy between my brows, it does just the trick. My hair is so fine and light that it's almost not noticeable.

Confession: Helping my roommates with wedding plans makes eloping seem so much more appealing. If only I didn't want wedding day pictures and my family to be there.

We came very close to eloping because of family drama. Looking back, we kind of wish we had, especially since our wedding photos suck.

I have not found wedding planning to be particularly stressful at all. But all my vendors have said that I've been super easy to work with compared to other brides... so, my process must be somehow different?

Well, my roommate is kind of a hard person to work with in general, so that probably doesn't help matters. But there are just so many things.

So am I, Ali, but for many reasons - the intellect, the "humour," the ability to randomly add "u"s into words, the celebrity friends, that pretty face, those agile fingers...his milkshake brings all the boys to the yard.

I accepted this eons ago.

Today when I took some baby stuff down to the communal storage room, aka, The Stuff Graveyard, I noticed a little bar fridge tucked near the back. Clearly been there a while. Rei brought it upstairs and cleaned the mold and gross out, and now we have somewhere to store milk and pop and fruit. We'll put it back when we move out, but yep, we totally nicked a fridge today.

I went fishing for the first time yesterday and it was really fun. Except that we didn't catch anything big enough to eat. And I felt terrible for the little guys that I did catch and had to throw back. I had been all ready to learn how to kill and gut them but after realizing how awful I felt just seeing the hook in their mouth, I'm not sure that I could do it.

I really want to draw an engagement ring on Kelly's finger in her FB profile pic. The sly smile is just perfect to say "haha! I'm engaged!" and the left hand is just positioned SO perfectly to subtly show off a ring. Too bad I suck at photoshopping stuff.

If you're quick about the killing it's not bad. What were you catching/trying to catch? Fishing is really quite relaxing and fun and it's been far too long since I've been. Also, fresh fish is so tasty...
