I take shameless advantage of my unpaid R.A. (Rei). He's a really good sport about it, though.

Confession: I had to seriously debate whether I was going to break in my brand new Justin Bieber CD tonight or wait until morning, to listen to while I eat my pineapple and have some OJ, both things I'm equally looking forward to.

Worse, I compromised with myself and listened to two songs.

Confession: I can tell when I'm being falsely cheerful over IM because I end too many sentences with exclamation points.

Plus, the accompanied sinking feeling in my stomach helps clue me in.

While browsing CNN during Circ time, I came across an article on the next installment of Batman that had a picture of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard and the first thought I had made me really sad for the fact that I'm not in more regular contact with my local friends. They're the only people I know, besides Ed and Fred (haha...), who would not only at least silently tolerate it but also would most likely jump into a lengthy discussion about it with me with no self-consciousness or prudishness or "Oh you little pervert..." or any variation thereof.

When combined with a reaction I got yesterday from Brat over a statement about my ovaries waging war against the rest of my body, it's even more depressing.

Any chance I could get a link to this article!?

I found the royal wedding a bit confusing. I'm so used to either a Catholic mass or a brief, less formal ceremony. The vows came first?

*shrugs*

I didn't see it, but in our wedding, the statement of intention came first, which sounded a lot like the vows, but weren't. Was that it?

I didn't see the whole thing but the vows come pretty early in the BCP. There's opening prayers, reading of the word and then the vows.

For the last year or so, I have fluctuated within one pound up or down of the same weight. I am now two pounds above that weight and it is bothering me way more than it should. I am really glad that I'm seeing the therapist in a week to talk about my mother issues.

I didn't pay much attention outside of looking at some pictures on CNN.

But then there was this: http://twitpic.com/4r3mes

I laughed so hard. I'm not sure if it was the picture or the comments that made me laugh harder.

I've been attempting to spread the love of hat wearing by nearly always wearing one out of doors.

Depends. Do you wear it for the love of hats? (Love of not having your head stove in by a falling object does not count.)

I impulse-bought a sewing machine on Friday. For no apparent reason, other than it's always been vaguely in the back of my mind as something I would like to have and learn to use someday, and the woman at the shop was really, really nice.

Seriously, though, I need to learn how to hem my pants. If I can do that, it will be totally worth cost.

Lately I've been keeping a running list in my head of all the things I think people are snobs about and in keeping with the spirit that is me being worried about being this negative thing I'm currently acutely aware of, I wondered what it is I'm a snob about. I have determined I am pretty obnoxiously snobby about how little I consider myself to be a snob. What a s***.

I've become largely afraid of spending money. I've recently come into a small fortune (for me, at any rate) that is just small enough to not cover travel accommodations to anywhere I want to be ("Phoenix, you say? What a fantastic travel destination! Not."). I keep wanting to use it on functional Chicago related future necessities but I have saved just about every last penny for just that sort of thing for the past two years. This is supposed to be entirely fun, no strings attached sort of spending money but I feel guilty for thinking of things. Books? I'm trying to pare that collection down. Music? I, err, borrow that...Movies? I'd love to but they have s*** sales these days and even when I was comparatively rolling in dough years ago, I hardly ever shelled out full price and I don't do used (oooh! Something I'm a real snob about! That seriously makes me kind of happy...). So, yeah. I have some real play money that isn't tied into traveling anywhere and I don't know what to do with it. I don't need anything and I am not sure that I really want anything.

I hate using things I buy. It's not that I don't want to use them, it's just, they won't break/wear down/otherwise get ruined if I don't use it, so it'll be there if I really need/want it. The cost doesn't matter. I will not use crayons (just an example) because I might need them a month from now and if they're gone, I'd have to buy new ones then, when I probably can't afford it, and so I may as well not use them, even if they're meant to be consumables.

Oh, me too! That would be so freaking awesome!

Why did we not think of this when we lived two hours apart? *headdesk*

Actually, what I really, really want to be able to do is sew my own purses.

I confess, I am a fame whore. Before I went to Hong Kong, every few months, I would tell Steph "I need to get on the news somehow. What should I do to get on the news?" Luckily, I don't have tendencies to live out the Grand Theft Auto method of acquiring fame (such as killing pedestrians until the cops show up, then killing cops until the FBI shows up, then the Army). I usually do something weird like balancing a crazy amount of eggs or organizing a Marshmallow War convention. But, I crave attention.

Since we got back from Hong Kong and the hype of our trip died down, I've found myself uploading retro pictures to facebook or styling my hair in ridiculous ways to get comments from people. So, I can no longer argue with my wife or deny it when she calls me a fame whore.

I just bought a few pretty new dresses for the summer. I put one on this morning because I had plans to go to brunch with David's aunt. Unfortunately, she just canceled. I don't want to take my dress off, but it is ridiculous to wear a brand new, pretty dress while schlepping laundry up and down the stairs and cleaning the bathroom.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

Sometimes there's such happy stuff or, conversely, such unhappy stuff that I'm at a loss for words, so I put off responding because I want to find the right way to say whatever it is I'm going to say...but then I wait so long, the moment passes and I feel like an a******.

I keep hoping Pwebbers who get married will invite me and only one ever has (thank you, again, m'dear). This, honestly, makes me kind of spiteful and I think, "To hell with this. If I get married, you can't come!" I'm not very mature sometimes. But you know what, meh anyway; Ed already said I'm invited to his funeral.
