Year 2012 opinions

Postby Kyle99 » Sun Jan 09, 2011 8:04 pm

For me, I don't believe that next year 2012 will the end of the world. Only God knows when this world will end and that it remains a mystery which is beyond the knowledge of mankind.

What are your opinions about the year 2012? Is there a possibility that the world will end this coming 2012? Are there proofs about this?

To be honest Kyle, it's actually looking like a pretty high possibility that something big is coming in 2012. The Mayan civilisation, while not relatively advanced, is credited with successfully prophesying many natural disasters over the years, with surprising accuracy. Records from hundreds of years ago predict the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti Earthquake as well many others. In 2012 their calender ends, because they believed the biggest disaster yet was coming.

Now, I'm not saying that it will be the end of the world, but I doubt we'll come out of 2012 without a severe change to the way we live due to some massive worldwide act of God.

There may be a crisis in 2012 there may not be.

In my mind the chances of it happening are 20%.

Simply because the mayans couldnt have possibly predicted everything that happend to the world in the last century. Global warming probably has a huge impact. They probably studied weather patterns or some other intresting thing but it would be amazing if they could really predict all of this. I dont think they could have.

The thing is, many other Mayan calendars carry on after the date. It just so happened that this particular one stops on this date. Maybe they thought they could have managed to make a new list of dates by now?

In 2012 their calender ends, because they believed the biggest disaster yet was coming.
How did we come about the conclusion that that was what they believed? Did they have the reasoning for the calender ending on that year written somewhere?

I always assumed they couldn't find a stone large enough to chisel a longer calendar.
