More measuring cups

More Measuring spoons

More mixing bowls

More Tongs

But on the measuring cups/spoons set, this is your best bet, and it's less than $7!
# Cup measurements: 1/8, 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 1, 1-1/2, 1-3/4, and 2 cups
# Spoon measurements: 1/32 tsp, 1/16 tsp, 1/8 tsp, 1/4 tsp, 1/2 tsp, 1 tsp, 2 tsp, 1/2 Tbls, and 1 Tbls

Seriously? 1/8 cup is just 2 TBSP but still is wonderful, as is getting the larger cup measures, and 1/32nd tsp? and 1/16? finally a way to make recipes smaller, plus the very useful 2 tsp and 1/2 Tbsp measuring spoons. If you have a cook this would be an amazing stocking stuffer, but if you're putting together a present for a cook, this would be a great starter.

I actually bought small, colorful cooking implements for the kiddies (they always want to help but can't!), and I really, really hate relatives that get the exact same thing for everyone. But that is a seriously good suggestion! I would have done it, if not for this.

Give me a minute to consult some lists that I have typed for Brian. I seriously have a hard time thinking of things that *I* want, and so does Brian. So every time I think of anything, I try and jot it down so that I can remember later. Hold on.....

Hmmm. That actually wasn't much help. Well, maybe a nice cozy blanket? A cute notebook or organizer with a nice pen? (I try and keep one of those with me for writing down ideas or list.) I still think a unique cute apron would be welcome. Mostly for me, the important part is that someone put thought into the gift for me, not just something generic that anyone could pick up for anyone. As long as there is a thought or a reason behind the gift, I love it. Good luck?

The BBC documentary Planet Earth has a scene where a herd of elephants are trekking through a dust storm and a little baby elephant walks smack into a tree. It is adorable and hilarious (the baby is OK!). Somehow David blinked and missed this little snippet of the documentary and I would love to show it to him without going through the trouble of renting the DVD again. I've searched and searched with no luck. Someone, somewhere must have put this clip on the internet. I know it.

Probably a dumb question, but does anyone know from personal experience what effect daily exposure to soap and water has on the tarnishing of sterling silver? What about hand sanitizers?

I haven't taken my claddagh ring (which is sterling silver) off in three years. I shower with it everyday and never take it off when I do dishes, so it's exposed to soap and water a LOT. I haven't noticed any tarnishing... It's in need of cleaning, but it's fine.

Of course, who knows in the long run what will happen, maybe I should look into this too...

It tarnishes but I don't think it does any damage that a good polishing can't fix. You can either get a polishing cloth or liquid silver cleaner (they carry both in the jewelry section of walmart). I have both and use them occasionally on my silver jewelry.

When you handle a given silver piece a lot, it tends not to tarnish.
