My sweetheart bought me Maps last week (what a gal) and frankly ,it just stunk it up!
A good exercise for the heart is to bend down and help another up.

Wow, I couldn't disagree more. I consider Maps to be my desert island book. I don't love every single story in it but the vast majority of them are spectacular.

Well I might have been a tad hard on the book, it was not what I expected. I guess the elephant story was ok , and so was the origional EG but I've read that before. :)

I agree completely with Luet. Maps in a Mirror is my absolute favorite short story collection; I've read it through at least once a year since buying it in high school. (I was more than a little disappointed in Keeper of Dreams, after having been so impressed by Maps.)

I agree with those who disagree with buckshot.
I haven't read the entire thing, but I like most of what I have read. There are some weird ones, but most ofit is really good.
I think Fat Farm is my favorite. Although Kingsmeat was good as well.
(yes, I'm sick and twisted. Get over it)

I was also let down by Keeper.

I did not like Keeper either . Even after re-reading it half a year later
