It always amazes me how old the actors for young kids always are. He looks good for the part, though.

Haha! That's pretty funny. But man, now we're on somewhat-bit parts. I'm excited for news of Peter and Valentine, personally. But Stilson. Man. Stop making this so real.

I don't know why I feel like I have to post this as a spoiler, but:
Did anyone notice there's a new member named Brendan? With all this kid's been tweeting about Ender's Game it wouldn't surprise me if it was really him.

Turn's out my guess was wrong. Still, judging from his facebook page he's very interactive with his fans, which is good- I'll expect tweets/facebook posts from the movie set!

I tweeted him and started following him. SO CUTE. He tweeted me back saying he was extremely pumped for this. He seems to sincerely be excited.

Stilson scenes must have been shot....Check the twitter feed on Ender's Ansible.

The ones where everyone was wishing him well, and he appeared to be heading out.

Hmm, Wierd, I thought filming actuallystarted today.

When I saw all those tweets I thought the same thing
...and I also thought filming started on the 27th.

Well, Asa just tweeted, "First day of filming today! So excited " so, who knows what's going on

It is possible they will be coming back later in the filming and are just leaving since they're not needed for the beginning days. I saw an extra's twitter who said she was in the filming this week, but another who identified her role as a "commander", who was filming later in the month of March and April. I think filming really did begin today.

Remember, Ender's Ansible posted a picture of the extras casting, and it had a LOT of girls.

For such a (comparatively) unimportant role, maybe they found they had to use an alternate. Brendan has a lot of other shows he does, maybe there was too much of a conflict ???? But yeah, strange news.

I know the kid has other jobs, But Stilson is basically only in 2 scenes in the book.

1. With Ender at school in class when ender returns from having the device pullled from neck

2. When he actully fights Ender and dies.



To me, these are 2 easy scenes to get done, but seems there are some changes being done. I assume Stilson wont be killed for some reason.

As I said on the other thread, an assistant tweeted "Fighting boys!!! #EnderGaming" -- I don't know whether this is some reference to something not really related to the movie, or a direct reference to the scene they were filming today.

They probably will keep in the Stilson scene - all the drafts in the past have included it, just with varying ways to tell it without making Ender seem so terrible. The only question is ''how'' they choose to show it.

I was thinking the same thing, though I didn't think to question whether it was intentional or now. Very interesting to ponder.

It's official - Stilson has been changed.

From Brendan Meyer’s Facebook page:

“Hey guys. Unfortunately, I had to leave the cast of Ender's Game due to a last minute scheduling conflict. Although I'm disappointed, I wish the cast and crew all the best with this awesome movie. I'll be announcing my new & exciting projects in the next couple of days, so keep an eye out. Thanks for your support!”

This would jive with the report of Caleb J. Thaggard playing the role of Stilson as was reported earlier.
