If they ever get this project off the ground:
they should use a new face. Some new kid that is amazing at acting.
Stick to what's cannon in the book. Ender should be 5-7 when the movie begins.
Find an amazing 3 year old whose Greek to play bean. Pretty much a genius. That or CG one. (honestly they should just cg the whole movie and break it up into three parts.)
keep the backstory with Val and Peter and flesh out their relationships right from the start.
Just some vague ideas.

There simply aren't kids that young who can pull off the roles. I don't think that it's unreasonable to have Ender and Bean be about 10 and 9 respectively, and played by actors who are a couple of years older. If you get too hung up on a super faithful adaptation you're sure to be disappointed.

I say make Ender a girl (and Val a boy), and give the role to Shiloh-Nouvel Jolie-Pitt.
Who controls the British crown? Who keeps the metric system down?
We do! We do!
Who leaves Atlantis off the maps? Who keeps the Martians under wraps?
We do! We do!
Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Gutenberg a star?
We do! We do!
Who robs cavefish of their sight? Who rigs every Oscar night?
We do, we do!
