... James Cameron's AVATAR is coming out in 2009 and is using a state of the art motion capture. At the time of it's release it is supposed to have photoreal CGI while also being in 3D. ENDER'S GAME could benefit greatly from this style of filming. It makes the childrens ages easier to manage, puts less stress on the actors (AVATAR is mostly postproduction effects), and adds a tremendous amount of flexibility. No longer would we have to condense the storyline, it could still take years like it does in the book.

And last but not least, imagine seeing the battles in the battleroom in 3D! In the end we have to see what the motion capture is like. Keep in mind that this won't look like The Polar Express or Beowulf, it'll look way more realisti -- at least, that's what they're saying.

But....

I very much agree with you; that would be great for Ender's Game.
Usually, when books are being made into movies, they have to condense everything and that leaves out so many important parts (Eragon, for example)....

However, since it's a new concept, it'll likely be very expensive, right?
I'm not sure if the producers would want to spend so much money on photoreal CGI....

But it would be great if that could happen, especially if it would turn out to be more realistic than Polar Express or Beowulf :D
