Ender in Exile dialouge

Postby HectorVictorious » Mon Aug 29, 2011 7:05 pm

My copy of Ender in Exile finally came in and while i was exited, i was also disapointed that after this i will be out of ender books until SiF comes out. Anyway, I got a few pages in and realized that the dialouge doesn't have normal quotations around it, is has this (example): 'That'll teach him to save the human race' as oppose to the normal "That'll teach him to save the human race". Did anybody notice what i'm talking about? ( he used ' ' instead of " "). did i get a weird copy, or are they all like this. If they all are... why?

I think your copy is broken. :P

My copy has normal quotation marks, but I'm guessing that your copy is a paperback whereas mine is hardcover, so maybe all paperback copies are like that. *shrug*

I think its your copy. I have the paperback copy, and mines has normal quotation marks.

Maybe you got a printing from the UK or something? They use single quote marks there.
