Government of Ender's Game

I was wondering what everyone thought of Earth's government in Ender's Game?

I thought that under the perceived circumstances-- that they were under imminent threat from the Formics-- that the way they focused on combating this threat and the limits they placed on freedom and control were not hugely out of line with what could have reasonable been done. Although both of Ender's siblings fought against the establishment, I don't think it was that bad.
