Different versions of EG?

My Ender's Game book is published by Starscape and has a different page count than the original one published by Tor. It also doesn't say "author's definitive edition" on it. Is there any difference between the two? My book came out of the teen/kid section at the bookstore, so maybe it's been dumbed down or something.

well you could argue there was a slight change, OSC eliminated the N word from one scene sometime in the nineties, but that was years before the starscape edition you have was published.

why did Ender say that? It seems irrelevent to me.
