Question: Is Shadows in Flight still intended to come out?

After reading EiE, it seems to me that OSC basically tied all the loose ties except for Bean's journey in space- and that is perhaps meant to be untied. My question is, is the book still scheduled to come out? Anytime? Because I really liked having an Ender book to read again =)

other loose ends

There are certainly other loose ends to tie up...not just the one remaining loose end from the Ender's Shadow series....

what about the loose ends from the CoTM? Remember the communication with the Descolada at the end of the book?

I would think that the Descolada (sentient virus), or a derivitive, are going to be the cure for Bean's kids and their giantism. There are other loose ends also...ones that I look forward to reading about how they turned out.

When I write Shadows in Flight, in which YP plays a major role, one thing is certain: He will NOT "be" Ender. But he will be a person who makes his life decisions from the same deep moral/causal core. Different experiences will shape him differently, of course.

what I will NOT do is attempt to show the Ender-in-YP. What a boring book that would be. Ender-in-YP will be an issue that the character himself will speculate about, but the STORY will be about the Descolada planet and Bean's surviving children and Ender-in-Peter will be an important character in that story.
OSC posted this on Hatrack.com on September 11 2008, and there have been several other mentions of Shadows in Flight over the year. One things seems to be for certain: the book will come out eventually.
