Back from the dead, or something

Postby Platypi007 » Fri Aug 12, 2011 9:56 pm

I also realized I never posted an introduction here, since I met the people I know here in the chats before I ever came to the forum.

Anyway, I am Nick (the other Nick sometimes called me by other names...) and I live in Columbia, SC right now.

I (foolishly) started work on a Master of Music in choral conducting back in the spring of 2007, graduated in December of 2009 and have been looking for a job since then. What fun and joy! I work part-time as a choir director at a local church but I really don't want to do that anymore. At least it pays the bills.

So now I have a degree which the only job it qualifies me for is what I'm doing part-time, I'd have to get certified to teach high school (the thought of which makes me want to kill myself) or spend a lot more money and time getting a DMA to teach college (which, really, the thought of that makes me want to kill myself now, too... How things change in a few years).

So, I'm doing what I can to figure out a new career path and searching Craigslist and Monster for jobs in various areas (I was wanting to stay here, but I've recently thought of moving to Seattle, or back to New Orleans where I grew up. Seattle has nicer weather IMHO).

Anyway, I was searching something on Google and Pweb came up as a hit and I thought to myself, "Self, we should go see what things are like at Pweb these days, maybe post something and get involved again!" So here I am.

Who remembers me?

Welcome back!

If you like your summers short, Seattle, or anywhere west of the Cascades is your best bet.

Yeah, having lived in the deep south some neigh on 32 years of my life I am tired of our summers that last from April to October, sometimes starting earlier than that and/or ending later.

I think I might like the politics and philosophy of the north-west a bit more than the deep south's, too.

Hey, welcome back! I'm not sure which Nick you were, since I was never in chats. What was your old screen name?

'Tis the same as my screenname now, which is the same as my chat screenname. I obviously never pasted a whole lot, was more involved in the chats.
