Soldier.

Postby Peterlover14 » Tue Dec 01, 2009 9:14 pm

Alright, so I'm a soldier now. But I still keep seeing other people with odd ranks such as "EvilKillBanned", "the same thing we do every night..." and
"Lord and Savior". How did this happen?

It says in the FAQ... But I might as well not make you search. The ranks depend on the number of posts you have. Most forums have 'em.
They are as follows:

0-50 posts is a Launchie
50-500 is a Soldier
500+ is a Toon Leader
2000+ is a Commander

Some people have other special ranks
------>

It was an April Fool's joke that stuck. Post enough that people get to know you as more than a screen name and avatar, and you'll probably end up with one too. :)
EL explained this already and Jeesh touched on it. In that other thread you made about titles.

Reading is fundamental.

Well, sorry I'm used to just skimming. Don't have to be rude.

There are a lot of misunderstandings on this website.

Don't have to be rude.
Sure I do. It's part of the initiation.

(Alright, I don't and wasn't trying to be...more firmly suggesting you read a bit more closely. Apologies for the harshness.)

Yeah... I suppose it is... She called me lazy cause I called the Ribieras Mexican.

No, she called you lazy because you refused to even attempt to distinguish between the Portuguese and Mexicans.

They are.

But Alea said, the Ribeiras "were of Portuguese descent" and Jeesh replied that she would still think of them while eating Mexican food because it was "to [sic] hard to change [her] train of thought."

That doesn't mean they're of Portuguese descent; otherwise, nearly the entire world would be of English blood.

That doesn't mean they're of Portuguese descent
Only in Brazil's case, it mostly does. There was this little treaty in the 1490s between Portugal and Spain -when they were getting their Conquering the Natives on- and Portugal was "given" most of Brazil. I'd say the chances of them not being of Portuguese descent is very small.

Point being, even if the Spaniards crossed the agreed upon line and had children with the natives of Brazil, they still wouldn't be Mexicans.

Hooo- boy, you ain't seen nothin.

Seriously, we've all kind of mellowed out in our old age. Compared to the daily drama of a few years ago, we all communicate ridiculously well. :)

It's really nice to see a crazy-active newbie. Hope you stick around.

Reading through this, it reminds me that pweb does seem somewhat mean to newer members..

I just thought I'd point it out? Because at times it feels unwelcoming. Not that I'm particularly new.. But it occasionally pushes me away because it doesn't give off the familial glow it did four years ago. Just some words for thought? And.. the people are generally very nice on a one-on-one basis! And in the chat they rock, but here it can seem rather intimidating.

And Jayelle's post reminded me, and because I don't want to repost somewhere else where it probably won't fit still, I really miss Mr. John...
