Lucky! You got to read Ender for a grade? If any of us was assigned Ender, we'd invaribly all get A's!

Welcome to pweb, Lell. I'm pretty sure I can't offer limeaid because I'm still pretty new here too, but I can warn you to be warry of spoilers around the forum.

Hi, Lell. Welcome to this place, it's slightly addictive. Hope you find here what you've been looking for.

.... I hope someone offers that damn limeaid to you, because we all fellow n00bs aren't feeling like it it seems. *glances at the poster above her and runs off*

Check town square's FAQ. That has the best explanation.

Hey Lell! You are totally lucky you got a grade for reading ES. If I got an A for every time I read ES, I would be rich with A's.

And limeade is "limeade" that (i think) members of some Canadian association or something can offer new pwebbers. I can't offer it either. But I've seen a few people offer gyoza or is it gzoya? I dunno. Anyway, have some. I have officially offered gzoya/gyoza to you. Take it.

And Eskarina is right. This place is kinda addictive . . . I check this site more than my email sometimes!

Oh and ^Peter, I just checked, and I didn't see one thing about limade. I think I might just be blind, though.

It's in the very first post...
4) What is the deal with limeade?

Limeade was first brought up in calvinball (a games thread). It is all related to the Canadian Alliance's lime tree and after that we got into the habit of giving it to new members.

Anyway, this isn't really the place for introductions. This section is reserved solely for introducing new "clubs"/sections of the site. One of the mods will probably bump this over to Milagre.

Don't be a killjoy, Syphon :) . If a mod bumps it to townsquare, a mod bumps it, but no need to kill the warm welcomes.

True but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of actually using this space precisely for that purpose.

Let's face it, 1) no one will ever have a club idea that is 'good' enough to be approved as witnessed on 2.0, where there were what I thought were some decent ideas, 2) even were they to get approved, look at how good Pwebbers are with sticking to them considering the book and movie clubs are dead for all intents and purposes, and 3) I think Milagre can be scary for new members. Why not have a basically neutral place for people to post a hello? I also think the FAQs could be added in/moved to this area too, were it to be used for introduction/welcome threads. I know a certain member used to say it'd be best for people to lurk long enough to get used to us but that doesn't always happen, so why not make it easier for the brave ones who want to rush into getting to know us?

Oooo, ooo, I lurked! anywho, welcome to all of you in here who I haven't officially welcomed yet. That'd be Lell, ^Peter, Eskarina, and Jeesh_girl15. If I was Canadian I'd be tossing out them limes like crazy, but I'm not, so have some maple syrup instead. It's best chugged straight from the bottle ;)

*picks limes*
*picks a carrot*
*picks a flower, blade of grass, and a rock*
*throws everything including his dollar into magic blender and blends...*
*out pops a cake!*
*runs the cake to the Foyer...*
Magic cake as a welcome for next newcomer!

Anyway, a belated welcome to PWeb

To whom? Like I said, There's no newbies. So Eskarina can't give her Maple Syrup/Limeade thing, and ^Peter can't give his cake thing.

You guys have only been here a few months. In my book, that means you're still n00bs, especially given that so many of our members have been here for several years.

Does being noobs mean that we can't give gyoza, magic cake, syrup, or whatever warm welcome we want to give to newcomers?

Or is this a seniors-vs-newbies sorta thing? If so, I dont' really care because I feel more comfortable with my fellow noobs, anyways.

Not at all. I was just pointing out how silly it was to reject Bean_wannabe's warm welcome to the lot of you on the basis that you're not newbies. Most of the regulars have been here for 5+ years. So, yeah, for us, you guys are still newbies. You probably will be for a while. There's nothing wrong with being new; it doesn't mean you can't welcome other newbies. I just thought it was kind of funny that B_w's welcome was rejected on the grounds that you folks aren't new.

Oh, okay... thanks for that, Syphon. And bean_wannabe.

I guess ^Peter wasn't that enthusiastic. He forgot to add exclamation marks.
Thanx Syphon and Bean_wannabe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seeing as I lived in Canadia for two years, I believe I can give you limade. "Remember kids, little orphan Annie says to drink your limade!"

There's, ah, a bit more to it than being Canadian or living there. See the FAQs for more info.

How do I make people stfu about limeade?

Posted: Fri May 29, 2009 1:41 pm
by Jeesh_girl15
You can't really make them stfu, but you can ask ver nicely, and they might move their conversation to the thread about Limeaid. It's called Limeaide-Annexed? Yay or Nay?
