That's... pretty awesome. I normally find the Doors just slightly boring on their own, but adore remixes of them.

I can't believe one of my best friend just suggested I go as one of my least favorite television characters to a con. I feel like he doesn't know me at alll!!
So don't go worrying about me
It's not like I think about you constantly
So maybe I do, but that shouldn't affect
Your life anymore

I recalled a line from this song, played it, and it's now doing wonders with my emotional stability.

Glee cast - Bohemian Rhapsody.

I actually like this one more than the original.
Who controls the British crown? Who keeps the metric system down?
We do! We do!
Who leaves Atlantis off the maps? Who keeps the Martians under wraps?
We do! We do!
Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Gutenberg a star?
We do! We do!
Who robs cavefish of their sight? Who rigs every Oscar night?
We do, we do!

Jonathan Edwards, "Sunshine (Go Away Today)"

Sunshine go away today
I don't feel much like dancing
Some man's come, he's tried to run my life
He don't know what he's asking

He tells me I'd better get in line
I can't hear what he's saying
When I grow up, I'm going to make it mine
But these aren't dues I been paying

How much does it cost? I'll buy it
The time is all we've lost, I'll try it
But he can't even run his own life
I'll be damned if he'll run mine... Sunshine

Sunshine go away today
I don't feel much like dancing
Some man's come, he's tried to run my life
Don't know what he's asking

Working starts to make me wonder where
The fruits of what I do are going
He says in love and war all is fair
But he's got cards he ain't showing

How much does it cost? I'll buy it
The time is all we've lost, I'll try it
But he can't even run his own life
I'll be damned if he'll run mine... Sunshine

Sunshine come on back another day
I promise you I'll be singing
This old world, she's gonna turn around
Brand new bells will be ringing

Postby Eddie Pinz » Tue Jun 29, 2010 9:41 am

It appropriately describes someone I know.
Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Pen & Paper

This whole routine is getting old
So am I and so are you
My reputation lets me know
I can do whatever I want to

Though it seems that you believe
You can do whatever it is you please
Know before, know before you wind up on your knees
Don't cry to me no more

You like the way that people stare at you now
You look so fake, just thought that you should know
And you're all the same and when the curtain drops down
You'll be replaced by something typical

You set yourself up to be sold
And that's okay 'cause that's your goal
Manipulation takes its toll
What will you do when nobody wants you?

Though it seems that you believe
You can do whatever it is you please
Know before, know before you wind up on your knees
Don't cry to me no more

You like the way that people stare at you now
You look so fake, just thought that you should know
And you're all the same and when the curtain drops down
You'll be replaced by something typical

I know I've stood so long beside you
And I know I should've left you right where I had found you
I know I've stood so long beside you
And I know I should've left you right where I had found you

You like the way that people stare at you now
You look so fake, just thought that you should know
And you're all the same and when the curtain drops down
You'll be replaced by something typical

You like the way that people stare at you now
You look so fake, just thought that you should know
And you're all the same and when the curtain drops down
You'll be replaced by something typical

Take my Hand - Simple Plan.
Hey Hey
Hey Hey

Sometimes I feel like everybody's got a problem
Sometimes I feel like nobody wants to solve them
I know that people say we're never going to make it
But I know we're going to get through this
(Close your eyes and please don't let me go)
Don't, Don't, Don't, Don't let me go now
(Close your eyes don't let me let you go)
Don't, Don't, Don't

[Chorus]
Take my hand tonight
Let's not think about tomorrow
Take my hand tonight
We could find some place to go
Cause our hearts are locked forever
And our love will never die
Take my hand tonight
One last time

The city sleeps and we're lost in the moment
Another kiss says we're lying on the pavement
If they could see us they would tell us that we're crazy
But I know they just don't understand
(Close your eyes and please don't let me go)
Don't, Don't, Don't, Don't let me go now
(Close your eyes don't let me let you go)
Don't, Don't, Don't

[Chorus]
Take my hand tonight
Let's not think about tomorrow
Take my hand tonight
We could find some place to go
Cause our hearts are locked forever
And our love will never die
Take my hand tonight
One last time

Hey Hey
Hey Hey

The raindrops
The tears keep falling
I see your face and it keeps me going
If I get lost your light's going to guide me
And I know that you can take me home
You can take me home

[Chorus]
Take my hand tonight
Let's not think about tomorrow
Take my hand tonight
We could find some place to go
Cause our hearts are locked forever
And our love will never die
Take my hand tonight
One last time

[Chorus]
Take my hand tonight
Let's not think about tomorrow
Take my hand tonight
We could find some place to go
Cause our hearts are locked forever
And our love will never die (Love will never die)
Take my hand tonight
One last time

I'm torn between posting this here or in Confessions:

I've been spending the afternoon drinking a gin and tonic whilst listening to various versions of Jerusalem, followed up by my Burns' Night playlist.

Postby Eddie Pinz » Fri Jul 16, 2010 6:47 am

Listened to this on the way to work to try to get my head on straight and to remind myself how I felt at the time when this song was more relevant to me.
Spill Canvas - All Hail the Heartbreaker

I had the notion that you'd make me change my ways
My bad habits would be gone in a matter of days
I had the feeling that you'd open up my eyes
To a whole new world that had since been in disguise

But that day will most likely never come for me
And it's just my luck to end up getting stuck
To everything you are

So tonight I'll sit and pick apart your pictures
And overanalyze your words
But the truth is that I've never fallen so hard
It's taking everything in me
Just to forget your sweater so far

I had the notion that you'd make me forget the world
But your undecisive mind shows me that
You are "just another girl"
I had the feeling that those looks you gave me were real
What if I ripped your heart apart at the seams
Maybe then you'd know how I feel

But that day will most likely never come for me
And it's just my luck to end up getting stuck
To everything you are

So tonight I'll sit and pick apart your pictures
And overanalyze your words
But the truth is that I've never fallen so hard
It's taking everything in me
Just to forget your sweater so far

I can honestly say
That I never, ever, ever felt this way
Your lips, your eyelashes, your skin
These are the parts of your body
That cause my comatose to begin

I can honestly say
That I never, ever, ever felt this way
Your lips, your eyelashes, your skin
These are the parts of your body
That cause my comatose to begin

I will sleep another day
I don't really need to anyway
What's the point when my dreams are infected
With words you used to say
I will breathe in a moment
As long as I keep my distance
I wouldn't want to go messing anything up

So don't go worrying about me
It's not like I think about you constantly
So maybe I do, but that shouldn't affect
Your life anymore
I knew it the moment you walked into the door

So don't go worrying about me
It's not like I think about this constantly
So maybe I do, but that shouldn't affect
Your life anymore
I knew it the moment you walked into the door

I'll let you get the best of me
Because there's nothing else that I do well
I'll let you get the best of me
Because there's nothing else that I do well
I'll be the giver and you'll be the taker
I guess that's how this one's gonna go I'll be the giver and you'll be the taker
You've got me down on my knees and I proclaim
All hail the heartbreaker

Now Pandora is messing with me haha.
Amber Pacific - If You Fall Back into my Life

I know it's not enough to say I'm wrong
You know that I will miss you now you're gone
I know it's not your life to see this through
Just know that in my heart, it beats for you
So leave a little note for me behind
I swear I have to know the reasons why
This won't survive

But if you fall back into my life
I'd spend every night waking up to the beat I hear inside
Telling me to be your only one

But if you fall back into my life
I promise you I would never let another day just pass us by
I could never leave this world undone
I want to be your only one

And now it's not the same with you away
Just holding onto hope to save my days
I won't survive
So just stay with me tonight, and try

But if you fall back into my life
I'd spend every night waking up to the beat I hear inside
Telling me to be your only one

But if you fall back into my life
I promise you I would never let another day just pass us by
I could never leave this war unsung
I want to be your only one

But if you fall back into my life
I'd spend every night waking up to the beat I hear inside
Telling me to be your only one

But if you fall back into my life
I promise you I would never let another day just pass us by
I could never leave this world undone
I could never leave this war unsung
I want to be your only one
and this one...back to back...are you kidding me? At least, Incubus is on now.
Anberlin - A Day Late

So let me get this straight
Say now you loved me all along
What made you hesitate
to tell me with words what you really feel?
I can see it in your eyes
you mean all of what you say
I remember so along ago, see I felt that same way
Now we both have separate lives and lovers (and lovers)
Insignificantly enough
we both have significant others

Only time will tell
Time will turn and tell

We are who we were when
Could have been lovers but at least you're still my day late friend
we are who, we are who we were when

Who knew what we know now
Could have been more but at least you're still my day late friend
We are who, we are who we were when

But thoughts they change
and times they rearrange
I don't know who you are anymore
Loves come and go and this I know
I'm not who you recall anymore
But I must confess
you're so much more than I remember
Can't help but entertain
these thoughts, thoughts of us together

We are who we were when
Could have been lovers but at least you're still my day late friend
We are who, we are who we were when
Who knew what we know now
Could have been more but at least you're still my day late friend
We are who, we are who we were when

My day late friend

So let me get this straight
All these years
and you were no where to be found
And now you want me for your own
But you're a day late
and my love, she's still renowned

We are who we were when
Could have been lovers but at least you're still my day late friend
We are who, we are who we were when
Who knew what we know now
Could have been more but at least you're still my day late friend
We are who, we are who we were when

We are who we were when
Could have been lovers but at least you're still my day late friend
We are who, we are who we were when
Who knew what we know now
Could have been more but at least you're still my day late friend
We are who, we are who we were when (fade out)

I know it's somewhat of a sacrilege, but I can't help it; I love songs with large orchestras and nice background voices, and Glee's rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody has both of these.

Back on topic: David Cook's rendition of Billie Jean. (I like this one more than Michael Jackson's one, as well..is something wrong with me?)

I've been listening to a lot of Les Misérables. I find it very consoling.

At the moment I'm listening to Heather Dale's Joan, about St. Joan of Arc. I quite like how it approaches her mind as fixed upon serving God and not simply as a strange person who did great things.

Seriously guys, Heather is made of awesome and you should check her stuff out. She's amazingly nice, as well as doing some great folk music in all sorts of styles.

I am really loving the entire Recovery album, most of the songs are brilliant, all are pretty darn good, and really there's none I want to skip, so I just let the album play through entirely over and over.

Hands Down - Dashboard Confessional

Breathe in for luck
Breathe in so deep
This air is blessed
You share with me.

This night is wild
So calm and dull
These hearts they race
From self control.

You legs are smooth
As they graze mine
We're doing fine
We're doing nothing at all.

My hopes are so high that your kiss might kill me.
So won't you kill me?
So I die happy.
My heart is yours to fill or burst,
To break or bury
Or wear as jewelry
Whichever you prefer.

The words are hushed,
Let's not get busted
Just lay entwined here,
Undiscovered.

Safe in here from all the stupid questions
Hey, did you get some?
Man that is so dumb.
Stay quiet, stay near,
Stay close, they can't hear.
So we can get some.

My hopes are so high that your kiss might kill me.
So won't you kill me?
So I die happy.
My heart is yours to fill or burst,
To break or bury
Or wear as jewelry
Whichever you prefer.

Hands down this is the best day I can ever remember
I'll always remember
The sound of the stereo
The dim of the soft lights
The scent of your hair
That you twirled in your fingers

And the time on the clock
When we realized it's so late
And this walk that we shared together
And the streets were wet
And the gate was locked
So I jumped it
And I let you in

And you stood at your door
With your hands on my waist
And you kissed me
Like you meant it

And I knew
That you meant it
That you meant it
That you meant it
And I knew
That you meant it
That you meant it

I feel a little out of the loop, but I've recently discovered Mumford & Sons. Funny, it's not exactly the kind of music I would expect to so fall in love with.
Thistle & Weeds
Spare me your judgements and spare me your dreams
Cause recently mine have been tearing my seams
I sit alone in this winter clarity which clouds my mind
Alone in the wind and the rain you left me
It's getting dark darling, too dark to see
And I'm on my knees, and your faith in shreds, it seems

Corrupted by the simple sniff of riches blown
I know you have felt much more love than you've shown
And I'm on my knees and the water creeps to my chest

But plant your hope with good seeds
Don't cover yourself with thistle and weeds
Rain down, rain down on me
Look over your hills and be still
The sky above us shoots to kill
Rain down, rain down on me

But I will hold on
I will hold on hope

I begged you to hear me, there's more than flesh and bones
Let the dead bury the dead, they will come out in droves
But take the spade from my hands and fill in the holes you've made

But plant your hope with good seeds
Don't cover yourself with thistle and weeds
Rain down, rain down on me
Stop trying to be perfect. Focus on being you; perfect will come.

Just watched The Professional. Great film, and I like the ending theme.

Sting, "Shape of My Heart"

He deals the cards as a meditation
And those he plays never suspect
He doesn't play for the money he wins
...He doesn't play for the respect
He deals the cards to find the answer
The sacred geometry of chance
The hidden law of probable outcome
The numbers lead a dance

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that's not the shape of my heart

He may play the jack of diamonds
He may lay the queen of spades
He may conceal a king in his hand
While the memory of it fades

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that's not the shape of my heart
That's not the shape, the shape of my heart

And if I told you that I loved you
You'd maybe think there's something wrong
I'm not a man of too many faces
The mask I wear is one
Those who speak know nothing
And find out to their cost
Like those who curse their luck in too many places
And those who fear are lost

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that's not the shape of my heart
That's not the shape of my heart

Radiohead - Street Spirit
That has got to be one of my most enjoyable "singing" songs. So much power, and right in the range where I have strength. So much fun.
