Just listened start-to-finish "Dear Agony" from Breaking Benjamin. Wowza. They just have that X factor so many other bands are missing.

Ok. So I've listened to it about a dozen times front to back now, and I declare it the best rock album of the decade. No joke. It's a complete album, not just a couple singles surrounded by filler. It's thematic without being a 'concept' album (and by rule, 99% of concept albums not by Pink Floyd are absolute rubbish.) It never flags start to finish. They've just got it, man. It's like a blueprint for 'balance' in rock music. I've always liked these guys, but this makes them my favorite artist, fullstop (above legends like Dream Theater, Rush, the Floyd on my preference.) Go out and buy Dear Agony like, yesterday. I command you. Or steal it. Or burn it. Whatever.

Paul Allen, "To Bring You Back"

Are you thirsty, standing in the rain?
Not sure where you are or how you lost your way
Are you drowning
Some bar outside of town?
Searching for something given not found
A crowd of people totally alone
At the front door
Worlds away from home
And light up the night's last regret
Burn your only safety net
Step to the edge it's such a long way down

And I left the ninety-nine to find the one
and you're the one
I walked a thousand miles in this desert sun
Only to bring you back

Are you tired of chasing the wind?
Under water, do you aspire to breathe again?
Are you dying?
Is that the best that you can do?
Cause you can't find your place in a world that wasn't meant for you.

I left the ninety-nine to find the one
And you're the one
I walked a thousand miles in this desert sun
Only to bring you back

Hello, it's me i couldn't sleep I was just counting sheep.
I'm missing you.
Hello, it's me i couldn't sleep I was just counting sheep.

I left the ninety-nine to find the one
And you're the one
I walked a thousand miles in this desert sun
Only to bring you back.

I left the ninety-nine to find the one
And you're the one
I walked a thousand miles in this desert sun
Only to bring you back

Only to bring you back

I'm really enjoying (If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To by Weezer.

Same with Alicia Keys' Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart, even if it sounds a little like soft core porn music to begin with.

Kesha's Tik Tok is surprisingly fun. There's something off about her voice that I really enjoy.

Leighton Meeston's Somebody to Love isn't anything to write home about but Robin Thicke's portion is sexy as hell. He makes good baby-making music.

This mashup is pretty fun for the most part; there are only a few awkward moments for me.

Oh, Kirsten, if you're still poking in here, I haven't stopped looking into the exercise music...I'm just slow.

ETA: Lady GaGa's Bad Romance also awesome, as if Fall Out Boy's 20 Dollar Nose Bleed.

That would be the vocoder and the autotune. But, I totally agree. I love this silly little song a lot. It comes on almost every night on my drive home and makes me too happy to care about the traffic.

Right now, I am in love with Kate Nash's album MADE OF BRICKS, but most particularly Foundations, Mouthwash, We Get On, Merry Happy, and Birds

FYI, for those of you who loved Lynzie Kent's cover of Use Somebody it is finally, FINALLY available on itunes (I check pretty much once a week) along with several other covers.

Have you heard the English version performed by Ed's American voice actor?

Aww, really? All that? I could swear some of that was just natural tone. At least I know the weird accent for words like "clothes" and "toes" isn't vocoder/autotune.

To Bad Romance? I just walk around (incorrectly) singing "ga ga oh la la, ga-ga, oooh ro-ma." Like, that's the song as far as I'm concerned.

(Also, that "if" in Fred's quote should be "is")

You Can't Hold no Groove by Victor Wooten (I suggest skipping the first minute of the video to get to the song)
"I once heard a tale of a man who split himself in two. The one part never changed at all; the other grew and grew. The changeless part was always true, the growing part was always new, and I wondered, when the tale was through, which part was me, and which was you."

Victor Wooten is the s***, Rodaka. Saw him live a couple times, he's the man. His brother Reggie is awesome too. It's a shame a douchebag like yourself is the first person I've seen who's even heard of Wooten. =)

Puscifer - Sour Grapes
And the angel of the lord led me
Into the belly of the holy mother
A chamber black as pitch
But I felt no fear, only comfort,

For I was as a child in the womb
And she begged me
"Hear through yonder portal
Which looked upon the heavens,
And behold! a morning angel"

She ascended slowly from far beyond the horizon,
Her light like a heavenly finger pointing the way
And on yonder wall she traced for me a path
Which led me five directions, eight winters to east,

And behold!
As my feet landed firmly
Upon the vital winter of the second storm
There appeared before me a heavenly star

A holy virgin, the bringer of life and breath
And she spoke unto me saying
"Fear not the movement of the heavens above or the earth below
For change is what we are, my child.

Righteous are those
Who look up and sway with the wind,
Who look down and dance with the shifting of the soil,
Who swim with the movement of the tides

Who seek the truth around them
And discover that we are
And have always been in paradise.
The reflections of heaven on earth. Amen!'

And she spoke again saying
"Know, my child,
That there is no devil seeking
To cause guilt nor harm to men.

No evil, save blind faith, ignorance,
And the desire for the unprepared
To blame others for the devastation
Left in the wake of change

Change, my child
Change is in the heavens
Change is on this earth
Change is all around us

And if we
Are reflections of the divine
We must roll with these changes,
For we are these changes.

Eyes wide open,
We must look upon
The heavens as a mirror.
Wide awake, aware, deeply breathing

And when the s*** comes down, my child,
You will be there,
A true and holy survivor
To inherit the kingdom of god.

You will rise above the rumbles of the unprepared
To greet the new day,
To drink from the sweet fruit of the vine,
The water of life, the blood of the risen Christ, my child.'

'Go now, son,
Tell them all.
The ignorant, the blind paw by dogma,
Blinded by faith, the doubters, the nay sayers.

Tell them all, child,
They can not see
The kingdom of God,
They can not see paradise
Unfold before them

They can not drink
From the chalice
Which holds the blood of Christ,
The water of life,
Until they get right with Jesus.

Until they get right with Jesus.
It's always gonna be
Sour grapes with you, boy,
Until you get right with Jesus. Amen!
I like poignant criticisms of how society views the world, what can I say? Oh, and it's a cool song
Stop trying to be perfect. Focus on being you; perfect will come.

I just felt this was the best place to put that.
