Maybe it just didn't notice as a kid, or didn't have all this preconcieved notions and connotations to go along with words that really don't have any meaning other than the one given to them by the language itself, but...
I don't care how you cut it, but medieval Barons did not have a "Diplomatic Corps" who handled "foreign policy".
A Chancellor to recall an ancient blood pact made between long buried ancient heroes? Sure. A Scribemaster to negotiate the end of lawless war that's ravaging the borderlands? No problemo.
Just a small pet peeve of mine, but I'm wondering if anyone else shared in my annoyance.
