So, I've never actually read the book/series/whatever it is. But I just saw this trailer for the movie and must admit it looks really really good. Here's a link:

Hmm. Well, the trailer makes it look well done, but that's what trailers are for. Personally, I've always liked the trilogy, despite all of the misgivings (others have) concerning its muddled message about religion (I myself am a cradle Catholic). And the trailer itself pretty much states that it was made because of the popularity of LotR.

But, as with all movies, we shall see.
