Hmmmm
I'm one of those lucky people that get to do tech support for medical staff and one thing that is painfully obvious to me is that they spend more time learning about their profession than all the nuances of running a computer.
dapy, you are a bit too hard on H_K, i think.
He really didn't say that his problems were the computer's fault.
Maybe he knew all those things you said, maybe he didn't. But when you are in the deadline to give in something, and the computer won't cooperate, it's rather easy to panic, what prevents most logical thinking.
My advice is, when i have to send stuff to someone else, i don't like using .doc format. Instead, .rtf, being a universal standard, is a lot more advisable.
Anyway, did you work out why Word didn't let you save the doc?

how did I know you'd hop in saying something like that?Oh, and you might want to switch OS's too. >_>
for what it's worth, though, both windows alternative OSes run into their own fun with file and folder permissions...
yeah, but just because I'm blunt like that. everything gets watered down when you're reading it online, so I just have to be harsher to compensate.dapy, you are a bit too hard on H_K, i think.

Or perhaps that technology has become too complex for the simplest of things. If you ask me, the problem discussed is not being dependant on modern technology; it's not being proficient enough in said technology to have it work in the way that you want it to.
I've heard a lot of complaints about unix-like OSes, but I gotta admit, that's a new one.for what it's worth, though, both windows alternative OSes run into their own fun with file and folder permissions...

Because it's my automatic response for anything even remotely computer related? At least I made an effort to hide it this time.how did I know you'd hop in saying something like that?Oh, and you might want to switch OS's too. >_>
ETA: And evidently it wasn't hidden quite as well as I thought it was. Zero font size is invisible on my Mac at home, but now that I'm on a Windows computer at work, it's just tiny.
