I'm another big Connie Willis fan. Doomsday Book is my favorite and the only one I've read more than once but I've read the others Jayelle mentioned too.

Starship Troopers reminds me of people going to the Bugger planets to fight on the surface.

Starship Troopers is a must read.

Armor is great. Even though the respected authors can't stand each other.

The Forever War and Forever Peace are two great books by Haldeman. I haven't read his new one yet, but it is probably worth picking up.

These are all military sci fi, so if that's what your looking for you should enjoy them all.
