I've read and heard quite a lot about it because both of my younger half-brothers have Asperger's Syndrome and synesthesia is sometimes associated with autistic spectrum disorders. I just recently read a biography called Born on a Blue Day: Inside the Extraordinary Mind of an Autistic Savant by Daniel Tammet, who has synesthesia.

My husband teases me that I can "hear smells" because my sense of smell is so acute. And I definitely think that numbers have certain feels to them but not that I can explain. Some are good and some are bad. Anyway, interesting stuff.
