Title: Ozymandias

Postby Syphon the Sun » Tue Aug 03, 2010 4:55 pm

The fact that whenever something goes wrong with one of our cars, my wife is always the one driving the problem car.

That something went wrong today, when it's 103 degrees outside (heat index is 115) and I was at the office. I've spent the past several hours trying to fix it and just barely, maybe have it temporarily fixed enough to be okay sitting in the parking lot until I can devote some real time to it.

That it's my car and so I'll be hoofing it to the office in the worst heat of the summer. I think I'll be wearing gym clothes and changing when I get to the office.
Step softly; a dream lies buried here.

The feeling of mediocrity that you feel after watching an actionpacked or adventurous movie.

How your life pales in comparison to the fictional excitement that fictional characters experience, sometimes on a daily basis.

After exploring the story through the mind and eyes of the main character, once it's over, it sometimes hard not to feel the impact of the general boredom your life truly is compared to what lies in the imagination of the writers, and fake reality of the movie.

When I become Batman you can be my Robin. How's that for excitement?

I'd rather be Captain Kirk, from Star Trek, at this very moment.

However, Nightwing, the much cooler version of Robin, would work. :)

You have to log a few years as Robin before you can be Nightwing. Then, if my plan stays true to the comics, the next sap I get to be Robin will be blown up by the Joker. Any volunteers?

Also, playing teams in SSBB and constantly having to fight the other team 2 on 1. (also, when they suck, and they life steal. wtf. You don't deserve life)

I mean, I've progressed to the level where I usually outlive my partner.
However, I haven't transcended the point where I can take on two people, that are relatively close to my level, by myself.

It's really quite ironic(and paradoxal) - that I'm too good, yet not good enough.

Can I be your guys' Alfred? I'm quick with the Googles and good at pretending to be stuffy.

I was going to volunteer to be Oracle, but there's one thing wrong with me and two things right with me, if you get my meaning.

The two things are my legs.

It's a nice thought but I think the mods have got forum policing covered.

Jan, you are soooo Batgirl. And Mich, you can be Alfred. :D

I got a DD coffee tonight after weeks of craving it (I've been making my own at home) and it was burned tasting and horrible. Why did you let me down, DD?!

Pardon my ignorance, but what is DD coffee?

I'm assuming you don't mean a double-double...

I'm guessing Dunkin' Donuts, but my first thought was double-double as well.

Oh, me! ... wait...

Actually, I think I'd be pretty terribly useless in any superhero capacity... I might enjoy being Commissioner Gordon, though. Administration, forensics, organization, remembering to lock up the bat signal at night... I can handle that stuff.

I think there are some, but not around here.
A double-double is a coffee with 2 creams and 2 sugars. Usually from Tim Hortons.

Ah, well at DD, the ordering protocol is "light and sweet" (as opposed to just "cream and sugar") which is probably more than 2 creams and sugars.

You know what the most fun thing is to do in smash games? Play 2v2, die first, wait until your partner has 2 stock remaining, and steal a life instants before he dies.

Hilarity ensues.

(and by hilarity, I mean for everyone except the guy that storms out and possibly throws his controller. good times, good times)

Dude, that's the most annoying thing a person can do.(so, I guess its funny in a troll way, to whoever decides to do it)
People have done that in the past, and I had to resist the urge to attack them the next game.

One person did that to so much . . .I kinda lost it . . . well here's the message I sent him
Are you f****** stupid?
Seriously.
You kept life stealing me when I had two stock and high damage.

Not only is that a douchebag move, but you f****** sucked, so it was also stupid and cost us some matches.

If you life steal someone so that they have one life and high damage, you pretty much kill them, yourself.
The outcome is that I die, and you end up facing the two with the life you took.

So, when it comes down to it, one of us was going to have to go two on one with them - and that's when you unselfishly ask yourself:
Am I better than him? Would I win?
The answer is no as you kept showing us. I mean, look at that last f****** match, if you didn't suck as with Wolf, you would have won that. You're quite the scrub.

You are seriously the worst partner I've ever played with ever. If you hadn't left after that Wolf fiasco, where I obviously would have won had you no so foolishly and selfishly took one of my lifes, I would have f****** spent the next round attacking you.

Again, you are the worst f****** partner I've ever played with. Learn to play with common sense and ettiquete.

Protip: Don't life steal if you suck major ass.
Ontopic: I hate coldsores.

Minor hate: I hate that Edward Norton is not returning as Bruce Banner in the Avengers. It's nothing against Mark Ruffalo, who is a largely underrated/under-appreciated actor; I'd like him well enough if he were cast as Eric Bana's replacement to begin with. I just like Edward Norton that much more.

Man, this. It's been bugging me for weeks. I tell all sorts of people and none of them are as annoyed.

I hear that at Comicon they were less than charitable about working with Norton, which I've heard before, but man, he was a pretty good Bruce.

I hate that I can't find my old Gameboy Color. Every time I try to go though all the stuff I have stored in totes, I always run across it, always. Now that I actually want to play it, it's nowhere to be seen.

This is making me mad.
