oversleeping because I didn't flip my alarm mode all the way to the right (annoying alarm BRAAAAP! BRRRAP! mode) and it was instead on radio alarm mode (and the hour of static didn't wake me up).

Right now, soup. It's pretty much all I can eat.

LOL, I love soup. :-) I could pretty much eat it every day when it's cold like that.

Things *I* hate:
Being hungry in class and unable to do anything about it for at least 45 minutes
Getting under 4 hours of sleep again
Being unsure of my GPA

What happened that your mouth is in pain/you can only eat soup?
I infered you were probably sick, earlier, but maybe wisdom teeth came out?

Wisdom teeth. It wasn't bad the first day at all, the second day there was a little swelling, and this morning I woke up in a lot of pain. I kinda look like a chipmunk.

How stupid emo I get whenever she invites her stupid boyfriend over or goes and does something boyfriend-girlfriendish with him, and how I don't know if it's genuine, personal jealousy, or just bitterness that I don't have any kind of relationship like that and never have.

So :P

I've got a good one! Oh man, such a great hate.

Creative efficiency!

What do I mean? Well, you see, I think most people agree that in their mind things are AMAZING. They will paint paintings that will rival da Vinci. They will write songs that will rival Mozart. They will create computer wallpapers that will reach the top of DeviantArt. They will design games that will shatter minds.

Most of us fail. Why? Lack of creative efficiency! It is the link between the mind and the hands and the efficiency of that link. Some of us, through natural ability or endless practice develop a very strong link where very little efficiency is lost. However many of us that sit down to draw or paint or otherwise create typically start out with a very insignificant link.

It is why, in our heads, we can perfectly see what it is we wish to draw. Every detail; every nuance. I can see myself drawing it, how it should be drawn, why it should be drawn that way. I can see games that work seamlessly, hear songs that draw you in, witness the paintings that make you weep.

That link; that conversion from thought to reality; that transfer from mind to matter; from brain to hand; is all that stands between mental creativity and reality. At times the link peaks (this post resulted in a 7% jump, up from 10%!) and you write with passion, draw with realism, make conclusions and connections between things that seem so natural. Other times that connection; that link; has more leaks than the US Economy (do ho ho!). But, if you play your cards right, practice, and find your muse, that connection can be quite strong.

So, yeah, I hate a weak creative efficiency link! It makes me sad when I look at some of the things that I have done before and realize it has been some time since I've done anything worth-while. Even if some past things make me cringe in my own emoness.

People in audiences. Went to a Cirque du Solei performance today, and as usual, the audience was the most annoying part.

Filling out timesheets late. Given how much I do this, one might think it gives me some kind of orgasmic pleasure, but no. Once I realize I haven't turned one in, I know I need to turn it in sometime (or, well, I really really should), but I feel bad about upsetting the schedule of things or whatever, so I avoid doing it (guess what I'm avoiding doing right now!). I don't know if it matters, but some HR people have been so bloody insistent about when to turn stuff in... and I just feel so silly, as if someone's going to pounce on me, angrily asking "you turned this in a month late? what the hell is wrong with you?"

And actually, I just hate filling out timesheets, and I don't really like money, both of which probably contribute to this....

Showers.

Don't get me wrong, I like being clean, I'm not gross or anything, but I hate the time it takes to have a shower. I hate the whole get-cold-and-naked, stand under a nice warm shower and dread the the whole get-cold-and-naked thing again. My hair takes forever to dry and my bathroom is always cold.

If the future is here, where is my insta-clean laser?

I'm reading The Stars, Like Dust by Asimov and the main character, Biron, walked through a mist (the book didn't say if he was naked or had his clothes on) and came out the other side completely dry and clean. It took less then a minute. I would love that. Just walk through something and be clean and dry on the other side.

I would be unbelievably sad if we had instant showers and only instant showers. That would be nice for days when you're running late or in a hurry but mostly, I love showers. Even when it's freezing before/after. Unless it's a particularly hot day out (by my standards) and I feel like more heat will make me melt, I take warm to hot showers all year long. During the colder part of the year, I start it off warm and increase the heat once the current warmth is comfortable, until it's basically as hot as it'll get; this gives me a good kind of goosebumps. When I'm done showering, before I leave the bathroom, I make sure to leave my mark on both of the steamed-up mirrors (I draw stick figures, smiley faces, stars, whatever). It's a whole, fun process that I cherish for more than just the end result.

Just so I'm properly hating on something: I hate taking showers anywhere but at home, wherever my home at the time may be. I feel rushed and thus uncomfortable.

I can see the benefits of a regular shower every once in a while. I would prefer the Instant Shower more and use it much more often. I am sure that you would, too, if it were available.

Hate: I hate that my dog has diabetes and I have to give him his insulin shot, like I just did.

I vote in favour of regular showers. They can be so soothing.

But if they ever invented a way to get the full effects of 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep in an instant I'd be all over that. Not that I don't enjoy real sleep, but it's just such an inefficient use of time.

I hate that also. I hate facebook. I hate how when people go to an event, like a picnic, party, out to eat. They all go home that night, upload, then the next day they spend all day commenting and tagging commenting and tagging. I'm so glad I never had one.
