Why do they call it an Xbox 360?

Because when you see it, you'll turn 360 degrees and walk away.
Uh... wouldn't turning 360 land your right back where you started? Or is that some sort of level of joke I'm just not cool enough to understand?

I knew there was something off about that joke. Good job, Jani.

On the topic...

I hate the heightened sense of smell that comes with pregnancy. There is something in my workspace that smells bad... like... a stinky dishcloth or something and I can't figure out it's origin.

Not that I googled it or anything, but the fact that it requires moonwalking to make sense makes this joke about a gazillion times more unbearable.

Or maybe I just didn't look hard enough for a more reasonable explanation.

I get into these moods sometimes where I greatly dislike all the males in the world because they're evil. This just confirms I'm justified in thinking so.

Since Josh started this whole thing -and I was happily, blissfully even, ignorant of this- I will direct my annoyance at him.

I double up my hatred towards Microsoft, but I'd like to give Sams Club major props. They gave me a BRAND NEW Xbox 360 and since it had gone down in price they gave me 53 dollars back. :D

I really hate the title of the third Eragon book - Brisingr. Stupid, stupid non-word. I can never remember how to spell it when kids ask. And kids can never remember the title of it either.
AND it has a really long wait list already, so it makes kids whine.

That the above post was not posted by the correct person.

That people are intimidated by me. I find it silly, but people have told me this a few times in the past. And when I'm told, it usually results in me yelling at the person for being stupid. Which probably doesn't help.

I really hate the Eragon books.

I also really hate that we represent them. Because that means that I have to read them to properly pitch them for audio. And I hate that.

You know, I've never been a big fan of them, either. When I first read them, I was only impressed by the fact that it was published. Don't get me wrong, I believe that the kid has some talent, but that talent mostly lies in the perseverance and the fact that he managed to keep the whole book straight for three books. But the writing was rather boring, the character names impossible to keep straight, and the plot either clichéd or just too boring to care.

That was me three or four years ago, however. Maybe my opinion has changed since then, but I was never read Eldest and most likely will not read, erm, whatever-it's-called.

Just with HTML? Not to sound brusque (Ok, entirely to sound brusque.), but it would take a twelve second Google search to figure it out.

I hate being the computer guy.

Somehow, I find myself cleaning up a MySpace junkie's spyware-ridden computer. This particular junkie is the daughter of a woman my mother carpools to work with. My mother, and as far as I know, most of the people on the carpool are directors and executives in the technology departments for a multi-billion dollar corporation, and I get stuck cleaning this laptop.

That, and her brother's as well, but the hard-drive's fried on that one, so I don't have to do much.

This, on top of three PCs my extended family has charged me with refurbishing and preparing for use by my younger cousins, setting up and securing a home network to work flawlessly with 4 computers and an Xbox, all running different operating systems.

I might be complaining a bit overmuch, but I was planning on using this time to learn German. *sigh*

Stupid, stupid computer illiterate people. And ones that can't make up their minds.

I'm doing freelance graphics work as a "real" job this summer, my first attempt at such self-employment, and I have this client who wants me to make new labels for his aromatherapy candles. The first one, which is kind of a trial basis one to see if he'll hire me for all of the candles, is "The Birth of Venus" dressed in modern, fashionable clothes. So far I have had to present three different designs, each with their own sub-designs, because he keeps completely changing his mind on every single little thing.

This wouldn't be so bad, because I understand the design process and how clients work, if it weren't for the fact that he doesn't know how to show me what he wants. Half of our communication is over the phone, and the rest over e-mail, but he doesn't know how to send URLs to pictures of the clothes he wants over e-mail, and insists upon reading things like "http://www.jildorshoes.com/product.cfm/ ... r/PI=53280" to me over the phone.

I'm getting more than $200 for this one label, I swear.

It's even more fun when they don't actually know the names of the symbols they're reading. "Ayech tee tee pee colon backslash backslash..." (And have you tried telling him how to send you a URL electronically?)

I hate this ringtone on my phone.

The solution seems simple enough; just change it, right?

It really doesn't matter if I change it. It's the default, I-don't-know-you ringtone everyone but people I actually like enough to give a unique ringtone to gets.

My stomach knots up whenever I hear the damn thing, especially if it is accompanied by a Phoenix area code.

I wouldn't say they're bad, it's just not fair to those who aren't affected by them. Like.. saying all cats are long is a generalization that only applies to long cat.

More fair to say that "All men can be pigs" or "All men have been pigs at one point". ;)
