Pretty sure I've spotted mold on my EG. Slower going than the other book by a lot but still there.

I think my EG copies are cursed. I've bought more copies of that book than any other, and they all disappear or die.Pretty sure I've spotted mold on my EG. Slower going than the other book by a lot but still there.
Also, I hate picking up on a project where the previous coder left a mess.

I've come to accept that to virtually every coder, every other coder leaves a mess. It's part of how brains all work differently, I guess. Also, I hate picking up on a project where the previous coder left a mess.
My code is of course impeccable, logical, and full of comments that are meaningful.

Re: Things that I hate
Some people organize things differently and I can figure it out. Some people just don't organize, and/or don't understand the different between a computer program and a math paper. Also, comments that are directly contrafactual.I've come to accept that to virtually every coder, every other coder leaves a mess. If it was just any old copy, I'd suck it up but this is my yearbook copy (the one I have Pwebbers sign, that was started for me). I've stuck it in the freezer, will only remove it to take to MN, and then right back into the freezer it goes. Not as impressive or useful as an industrial freezer but it's my best shot at stopping the mold.I think my EG copies are cursed. Re: Things that I hate
I hate living so damn far away from where I grew up.
We've had two declines come back for our wedding in the last few days that rip my guts out in particular. None of the other declines have hit me quite this hard. And I can't be angry, because people need to do what is best for them, of course, and flights are so damn expensive. And I genuinely understand.
But it makes me so sad.
And I keep trying to repeat the APW mantra of "everything that is necessary will be with you then."
But it's not working right now.
I'm sad. And scared that practically no one from "my' side will come to the wedding. And trying very hard to know and believe that that does not reflect on me as a person...

you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

One of my best friends, who I've known since I was a year old, is getting married in Texas in November. I felt like the worst friend ever telling him I very probably will not be able to afford the trip down.I hate living so damn far away from where I grew up.

They're planning to hold a reception in Minnesota a few weeks later, when they're in town for Christmas, so at least I can go to that.

I hate that, according to the CBO, we're going to collect $200 million (per year) from people in poverty because they can't or won't buy health insurance and they won't sign up for a broken safety net program that results in worse access and worse outcomes than being uninsured.

What the CBO says about who will pay the individual mandate's penalty:Can you source that for me?
400,000 Americans below the federal poverty level will pay a combined $200 million per year as a penalty for not buying government-approved health insurance.
Just a few of the problems in Medicaid:
The odds of seeing a specialist are pathetically low for children on Medicaid.
Only 45 percent of primary care physicians are accepting most or all new Medicaid patients.
Medicaid patients face greater access barriers than the uninsured.
Medicaid patients are about one-and-a-half times more likely than the uninsured to use emergency departments to receive their care.
Medicaid patients are three times more likely than the uninsured to use emegency departments to treat preventable conditions.
Medicaid patients are more likely to die after heart surgery than the uninsured and this risk remains even after discharge.
Medicaid patients have longer hospital stays and higher risks of mortality following common surgeries than the uninsured.
Medicaid patients suffer more complications during and following surgery than the uninsured.
Medicaid patients are nearly twice as likely to be diagnosed with late-stage melanoma.
Medicaid patients are more likely than the uninsured to be diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer.
Medicaid patients are more likely than the uninsured to be diagnosed with other late-stage cancers.
Step softly; a dream lies buried here.

Re: Things that I hate
Is there a surplus of Stupid in this state and is it all located in office buildings? Because I have never had this much trouble getting what I need from people in AZ.
I was supposed to have an appointment this afternoon and that did not work out for reasons outside of the office's control but when I was trying to explain why I could not move to their other location because I 1) don't drive 2) don't have cash (or a physical location for my bank here) and am not pulling money where the fees would cost me more than the bus fare, not to mention would have to break a $20 and spend even more money I have not budgeted myself to spend and thus, essentially, don't have 3) don't want to walk 4+ miles one way in this heat after having to walk 1.5 miles one way to the grocery store (and then, obviously, back), they gave me attitude and said, "We're not canceling on you, we're moving locations, so if you have to wait longer, there's nothing we can do..." as if to imply, "This is your fault you're not getting in today or anytime before August 22nd, which is the soonest we can get you in at the location you can safely and cheaply/freely walk to."
I wasn't blaming you, folks! I was trying to determine where I can get in sooner rather than later, since I had to book this appointment 2 months ago and am already pushing it on going without seeing someone. All I asked is "What's the soonest I can get in?" All they had to say was "August 22nd" and I could thank them and hang up to start looking elsewhere. If I needed suggestions on how to make it to an appointment I just said I could not reach, I'd ask for f****** suggestions. Because now that they're making suggestions and I'm telling them they won't work, now I'm being the difficult bitch who is blaming them when I'm not blaming them! And then they start speaking slowly to me as if I don't understand English.
Next available appointment doesn't seem like a difficult question to answer.
f****** hell.

We're just getting the water supply (a spring house) at my house sorted out after almost 8 months of boiling everything and taking water from a local spring. May the force be with you!I was just finishing washing my hair and the shower quit! An issue with my well ! Oh well!

we actually had to rebuild the spring house, though it was ~50 years old, so it's amazing it lasted as long as it did. That sucks I'm always creeped out by buggers in my water, I dump a little clorox down the well every summer. We're just getting the water supply (a spring house) at my house sorted out after almost 8 months of boiling everything and taking water from a local spring. I do that all too often! It's usually followed by me chucking the left clothes at the wall and yelling "why didn't you let me know you were there!?"

Earliest resolution is 20-30 days from now and only if I do everything I can today (not possible due to work hours) and everything goes perfectly.

Waking up an hour and half before my alarm is supposed to go off and not being able to fall back asleep.
It's almost as bad as waking up 15 minutes before, knowing that if your body wasn't so stupid you could have had just a little bit more uninterrupted, marvelous sleep.
