Dear You 2.0

Postby powerfulcheese04 » Thu Sep 28, 2006 7:44 pm

This is an idea I kidnapped from a friend and posted originally on December 14, 2003.

It goes kind of like this:
You write a note to someone you want to say something to, but can't. This way you can get it off your chest without any real confrontation. It's a nice stress reliever. It doesn't have to be confrontational, though. It can be silly, happy, lovey, whatever!

There are only a couple rules:
1) Maintain some semblance of anonymity (No Dear "Actual Names"!)
2) No conversations in DY. This is not a chatroom. It's a message board thread.

Dear You,

I know he's your roommate, and that in your mind it's a betrayal of loyalty. But you need to learn to disassociate the two. It doesn't mean I love him. It doesn't even mean that I like him. It just means that we're two of a kind, and it's not often that you encounter another person who functions on the same wavelength. It's not often I have the chance to enter into a power struggle with another predator. I don't intend to let the chance pass by.

Thankfully, you haven't noticed yet. Sadly, there hasn't been anything to notice. I hope the former stays the same, and the latter changes.

Dear Hiccups,

Please go away.
Dear YOU,

That's so crazy, I had the most persistent case of hiccups for hours and hours last night and finally took a muscle relaxant to go to sleep. Weird.

Dear You,

I will always love you.

I will forever miss you.

However I will never be yours again. And you shall not be mine.

I will look fondly onto our past

Yet it shall all remain past.

I will take your lead and move on as quickly as I can.

I love you, and I always will.

Forgive me

Love,

Dear you,

I'm so ugly and worthless that you feel the need to engage in sketchy lights-out activities with your "psychotic" ex-girlfriend? Despite the fact that most everyone that knows us figures there's a mutual attraction going on?

Fine, dear. I'll be spending the rest of the night with Jade Puget. He's a lot hotter than you and he treats me better.

Dear You.
I Miss you soo much right now. And even though its only been a day since youve been gone, and even though you'll be back tomorrow, i still hate that you're gone at all. We've lived together for a month and a half now and just as im starting to become accustomed to this town, to this house, to your mom, to you, you leave me here to fend for myself for three days. Its just a little weird not waking up with you beside me. All ive done today is sat on the puter and did nothing, its kind of boring. I usually have you here to do something with: go to the park, walk the puppy, that other stuff we do. but this weekend has bombed. I know you'd hate what im doing right now, but im drinking whiskey and singing badly to myself with the music cranked so the neighbours can hear the words in perfect detail. Im so lonely wothout you here and i wish you would come home soon. And i know you will, but youre not here now, and i need you.

Love, Me

Oh, goody! Are we playing the passive-aggressive statistics game? Are we? Oh JOY! Because you are SO going to lose.

I am way, way, way annoyed with you right now. Looking forward to our 10:00 AM meeting.

Dear you,

Thank you so much for being who you are. Your humor is refreshing, your compassion is outstanding. Your wisdom is shocking for someone your age.

You're a little prone to making stupid choices, but today is the perfect day for me to forgive you.

Your speech today made me (almost) cry, it made me smile, it made me think and appreciate. It made me glad that I stayed here for Yom Kippur, I was having serious doubts this morning.

Most of all, I am glad beyond words to know you.

-Me

Dear you,

You were a nice person to know for a while. Somehow you changed me, I think. I'm still working on exactly how, but I am pretty sure that somehow I am different. This summer will probably be one that I will never forget, and you were a fairly significant character in my little section of The Greatest Story Ever Told.

You're incredibly twisted, but that is not the point.

In some way, I think that I will remain connected to you for a long time, if only because the memory of you still follows me wherever I go.

-Me

Dear you,

I miss you a lot. I'm sorry, I've been so very, very busy with nothing special. Being social. Doing homework. Things.

I watched Evangelion today and I thought of you.

Love,
Me

Dear You,

Just shut up already. The dative of possession was not created just to spite you, and you're wasting all our time whining about it. It's not going to go away, so just learn it. I can handle that you find it hard, but the only way to handle that is just to learn the d***ed construction. Just... shut up. You're the reason I'm going to the other tutorial next week, and if it's not any better, stopping attending altogether. I just can't handle your whining.

Dear You,

What's happening between us? You never talk to me anymore, you know how good of friends we were, what's going on? I'm pretty sure it's him, but I don't know how that's working since you only see him over summer. I just wish you knew how I was feeling right now...

For some reason, just you saying that from an outsiders view, made a complete world of difference. I knew I loved you for a reason.

Dear you,

Nah uh, you're not allowed to do that. You're not allowed to steal my boxes and claim you "live in them" and then point me in the direction of a library.

You're not allowed to give me butterflies.

Dear You:

What the **** is wrong with you? Honestly, we have the rest of this year and then next year together and that's basically it. Why the **** would you be spending all your time with these people you barely know? We have 1.5 years left before college, so let's make the most of it. Your real friends miss you, but you consider us afterthoughts or the like...What's up with that? Wise up, idiot.

Dear You,

I liked you way back then, and I'm starting to see now that you may well have liked me more than I caught on to. I'm sorry I didn't catch it then, and I'm sorry I made you uncomfortable the other night with the whole situation. I still do like you though... I look forward to getting to spend more time with you in the near future and see if you do too.

--Cam

Dear You,

You're really starting to piss me off at work man. You're stepping on everyone's toes and don't at all get where your role is on the job sites and that is incredibly frustrating. You need to recognize that you are not a lead in any sense, and that it is not neccesarily in a lead's job description to be doing your job. It is not your job to try and manage a jobsite, and it is not their job to inspect parts. You've gotta get a little more humble there, because you're starting to embarrass me. On a similar note, stop f****** bullshitting me. I know you have a lot of difficulty with it, and I don't care if you're bullshitting normally to myself or anyone else; but when I directly confront you I want the f****** truth not your stupid excuses.
