Remi, my new chocolate lab puppy is the most adorable little creature I've ever met! She is real busy, she keeps me hopping. She has taken to eating her share of rasberrys when I help Julie try to keep up with the bumper crop. Dont let your puppy eat rasberrys! Nasty!!!

Yestreday Remi somehow ate through a spot in the dining room wall! Have no idea how or when , Julie is so pissed, she just re did the paint and sheetrock repairs after the tree hit the house last year. Puppies are such a full time job! I totally forgot what its like, but its so worth it I love her so much.

Halo Top ice cream. Oh. My. Goodness.
I keep hearing things about this. What makes it so much more amazing than every other ice cream out there?

Or should I forget the reasoning and just go buy some?

My opinion is going to be biased by the fact that I have struggled with weight for pretty much my entire life since early adolescence, so keep that in mind.

I think for typical folks (with self control, will power, of average/healthy weight), there's potentially less appeal given the quantity and price. It's more expensive than some of the cheaper types of ice cream and ice cream alternatives (you know, the things that I call ice cream but are lacking some ingredient or have too much of an ingredient or don't meet FDA quality standards, so it can't legally be called that - frozen dairy dessert). But part of that is because it uses a sugar substitute and is branded as being low calorie (240-280/pint); Ben and Jerry's is roughly 3 times as many calories for a similar portion size. And that is why I'm so impressed by it. It tastes damn good for something that has so few calories, relatively speaking. It tastes pretty good for something with calories, too. Although I'd prefer my local ice cream shop (top ten parlor in IL!), if I'm having a bad day, or a normal day, and I feel like having some ice cream, I feel less awful about eating Halo Top and my mouth is happy.

I am intrigued. I'll have to get some the next time I crave ice cream.

My favorite is the PB cup but it's one of the higher calorie at 320. Still, to be able to eat half a pint for 160 calories is pretty awesome.

I have two tomato plants and whenever I touch them, the smell of plant lingers on my fingers and is just lovely. *happy sigh*

Is the fire near you, or is the smoke just drifting your way? I hope it clears up soon. I can't imagine how awful it all is.

It thankfully rained before and after we arrived back in BC for a visit, so there hasn't been much smoke here, either, which is a relief. It was really bad just before we arrived.

I think the government will keep making poor decisions, and people will stay angry. Unfortunate, but should help with turnout.

I love seeing a little more life around these parts, lately. That has made me pretty happy, even if it's still minimal.
