The best part of Ponyo is when Liam Neeson yells hoarsely (in an American accent) "BRING ME MY DAUGHTER BACK."

I wanted him to storm that beach front, breaking arms and shooting people.

Charlie Day in Going the Distance. I'd never heard of this guy before but he was hilarious.

I also loved the movie as a whole but that should come as a surprise to no one.

Silly Mich, that movie is in Japanese with English subtitles. There's no Liam Neeson.

I watch many things in their original languages, but Miyazaki's I do not, and I have never regretted it.

Ponyo was a bit of a trip... Although I loved the toy boat!

Chocolate candies individually wrapped in foil. I like trying to get the foil off without tearing it.

There's another life out there...

There's no way in hell I haven't mentioned this before but it bears repeating: I love making people laugh and, to a lesser but still good extent, smile. I wish I actually did this more but I'll take what I can get.

I absolutely love how the first couple rains of the season make our cats go crazy. Right now i'm watching Keekers nose dive repeatedly under the kitchen rug while Lulamay lays on her side and moves in circles on the carpet.

They're so hyper!

My husband says that my subconscious is funnier than I am awake. This is because the other day I woke myself up laughing from a joke I was telling in a dream. Of course, the joke wasn't all that funny but it seemed really funny. (I was telling a joke to the muppets on Sesame Street).

Networking. Just this once. I don't generally like it because it feels so awkward, even when it's really not. Single-serving friends and all that jazz. But, given the story below, I'll love it for a little while. (If I actually get the job, I'll love it forever. Promise.)

So, I was doing some more research on that firm I interviewed with a while back. Nothing major; I was just wanted to see how many of their associates are graduates of my school and how long they've been there. In the course of that research, however, I found out that I (sort of) know a partner. And it's because I was in Boy Scouts, of all things! He's a member of the Board of Directors for my home council and I actually shadowed him for a day during my Eagle Scout Career & Recognition Day.

I e-mailed him, re-introducing myself (because, seriously, it's been several years since then), letting him know that I interviewed with the managing partner and asking for a bit of general advice on getting into the field.

He replied a couple of hours later and offered to put in a good word for me with the hiring partner. Which doesn't mean I'll be hired, given that they aren't hiring very many new associates, but it's a better position than I was in a few weeks ago.

I love a successful thrift store shopping trip. Today I got a brand new Ann Taylor skirt, three pairs of pants (jeans, khakis, capris) and two shirts, all for $35. The skirt was the most expensive piece at $15 but it was originally $88 and still had the tags on it. I had bought a pair of jeans at the mall the other day for $30 and I really didn't like spending that much (I know, I'm cheap). Now that I found a pair for $7 that I like just as much, I can return the other ones! :)

That I got my wedding bands for about 80% off, all told. (Granted, I spent about 3 hours on the phone between the company and my bank figuring out why the charge wouldn't go through.)

I love that Easy A showed scenes/made reference to:

-Say Anything
-Breakfast Club
-Can't Buy Me Love

It's an easy, cheap way to win me over, using 80s movies, but it never fails.

And seriously, who even knows about Can't Buy Me Love -in which Patrick Dempsey, a Tucson teenager, buys his reputation/popularity from the girl he likes- besides my brothers and me? Or Loverboy.

*sigh* I love 80s and early 90s movies. It needed repeating, I swear it did.

A doe with a pair of fawns live in the woods behind my house. I've had to stop several times in the past couple of weeks to let them cross the road. My favorite encounter was the evening I saw them on one side of the road and an old lady was sitting on the swing on her front porch on the opposite side of the road watching them.

Also, this is kinda amusing:

That the cheapo chocolate "ice cream" doesn't actually say ice cream - it was a "frozen dessert".
