Re: Things that I love
Since I go on two annual trips that venture into Canada, my family has a running joke that I am always in Canada. They are shocked when I am around and not in Canada. It may have progressed to the point where they think I am Canadian.
That being said, my mom just wished me a Happy Thanksgiving on my facebook wall. I am thoroughly amused

Leftover spaghetti sauce and pot roast (not together.) They are two foods that taste better leftover than freshly cooked. Even though they are amazing freshly cooked.

This morning, I walked in to work and there were so many things that needed to be shelved. Then, the clouds parted and a god-like figure said, "Here, Alea; have a volunteer." And I cried tears of overwhelming joy.

I love my title! Fun fact, did you know I've lived in 5 countries across 4 continents since I joined Pweb? And those are only the places I've been for longer than a month-- I've traveled to more than 15. I am so lucky to have had all of these opportunities.

I love the new Pweb Chat. I get to talk to cool people who I've always wanted to get to know better but never really had a chance to talk to before. And those you I do know, I get to talk to more regularly.

As well as it should. Kiwis are one of my favorite fruits, but they definitely do not look appetizing. At least not to me anyhow. I remember the first time I tried one, I thought, "There is no way that this hairy little thing is going to be any good. Really? It is neon green on the inside. I'll try it anyhow." Then, OMG! *mouthgasm*

I love that the side benefit of all of my bird feeders is that my cats are endlessly entertained by the daily parade of birds, squirrels and chipmunks that feed from them. It's so cute to hear the kitty chirps they make.

Re: Things that I love
Double post.
I love talking to sweet, old people in the aisles of stores. Today, I was staring at the peanut butter for awhile because I couldn't remember which one I had at home and I was comparing prices and jar sizes, etc. An old man started giving me advice on which one to buy (and which jelly to buy as well!). I ended up taking his advice.

Re: Things that I love
Showers. Oh my God. Showers are the best thing in the world, ever. My back and hands and hips don't hurt, and I can just say whatever's on my mind, I think things out. I also try to remember to spend at least a little time talking to Little Bitty Boy. I just feel so much less icky. I'm so hot all the time these days, and it's so awesome to feel clean and new. Showers are the best time of day.

Yes, to all that. I'm sure what you included that has to do with pregnancy is also true but I can't speak to any of that.
I discovered, months ago, how to tilt my head and move it just right to get the feeling I get at a haircut place, when they wash my hair. That was the best discovery I have ever, and I do mean ever, made.

Re: Things that I love
I love my dentist. His name is Dr. McLean (no joke) and I have been going to him since I was nine years old. He's seen me through my cavity-ridden youth, braces, and at least 5 tooth extractions. Every time I go he tries to convince me to be a dentist. I don't particularly enjoy going to the dentist in general, but he makes it pretty awesome. And his hygienists and assistants are rather amazing too.
I used to hate gravity because it would not let me fly. Now I realize it is gravity that lets me stand.

Re: Things that I love
I absolutely love my hygienist. I didn't got for probably a good 12 years and she was just so kind everything really felt personal with her. I'm not too fond of my dentist, but that might just be because I can't really understand him. He has such a thick accent (can't even place what kind) and I never know what he's asking me to do or informing of. He's not really personal, but he is pretty fast at what hedoes, which is good because the more I think about things the more scared I get and am more likely to work myself up.

I'm glad that dentists aren't getting ONLY hate. If everyone felt the way I do about dentists then being a dentist would be the worst profession to be in. Glad you have had good experiences, and wow, I can't imagine being able to have had the same dentist or doctor for that long!

Re: Things that I love
I love the staircase at my therapist's office. The building is in a pretty rundown area of Troy, NY. It smells like rather bad as you walk to it. But then you enter this really old, cool building. The stairs up to the second floor office are made of some type of stone. You can tell they have been there a really long time. They are actually worn way down in the center. Also, the building is named the "Ilium". That is the name of the fictional city in Kurt Vonnegut's novel Player Piano, which was based loosely on Troy. Anyway, the whole place just makes me happy.

I love that MLP's rise to popularity seemed to coincide pretty well with a resurgence of the 60s spidey meme. The combination of the two together consistently makes me laugh a lot, and it often happens when people try to derail mlp threads with spidey threads.

Re: Things that I love
I will be seeing The Last Five Years in Tucson, in January. (I also just realized this is becoming another tradition for me, it seems; I saw Wicked in Tucson in January of this year.)
It won't be any big production, a local theater company is putting on the show, so even at its most expensive, I'll be paying way more in gas to get there than to see it, but nothing beats a live experience and I've been wanting to see this in person for a little over two years.
I love Tucson and I love the theater.

Someone installed Chrome on the work computer and I've started using it. It's much better than the clunky old IE I was forced to use before. A lot faster and none of the bugs I've been having with IE. I may switch to Chrome from Firefox on my own computer as well if I can get the settings and addons the way I want.

Re: Things that I love
I am a total champion for small, local businesses. Particularly book stores. And I know what Barnes and Noble and the other big box stores have done for the industry (first the very, very good and then the very, very bad). I think that small independent bookshops are universally lovely. The staff is always incredibly informed and helpful. The selection is usually pretty good. The atmosphere is cozy. Independent book stores are awesome.
And yet...and yet...
Walking into a Barnes and Noble--ANY Barnes and Noble--is the best feeling ever. EVER. And I can't walk into one and leave empty handed. I just can't. And yes, that says a hell of a lot more about the evils of big box stores and creepy advertising and all that jazz. But.
Maybe it's because the B&N they built near the mall where I grew up was 1) the first conveniently-located bookstore ever in my life, and 2) I spent ALL MY FREE TIME THERE. Which, given the expansiveness of my extracuriculars and the fact that I worked all through high school, was not so very much. But they would let me sit. And read. And dose up on far too much caffeine. And talk to all my friends. AND THEY WOULD NEVER EVER KICK US OUT. Sometimes, when I was too poor to actually buy books (I avoided my local library after age 14, because I had worked there and the job ended poorly. It wasn't until college I felt comfortable in libraries again) I would sit there and just read 3 or 4 books straight through and then put them back on the shelves and leave. AND NO ONE CARED. B&N was MAGIC. I adored it.
And I still do.
I hardly ever go into them anymore, because of how poor I am, and because now I use my local library like whoa. And when I DO want to buy a book, I try to go to those local, independent bookstores I'm always gushing about.
But man. I went into B&N the other night for 20 minutes, and left with the most serene feeling on the planet and two impulse-buys. One a HARDCOVER, no less. And all I wish is that I could've stayed longer.
I love Barnes and Noble.

Switching to Chrome is probably the best thing I've done with regards to internet use since getting a high speed modem. It's fast, I like the look of it, it's easy to use and customize, it (almost) never crashes, and I love the automatic syncing of bookmarks and preferences between my computers.Someone installed Chrome on the work computer and I've started using it. It's much better than the clunky old IE I was forced to use before. A lot faster and none of the bugs I've been having with IE. I may switch to Chrome from Firefox on my own computer as well if I can get the settings and addons the way I want.
The big box book stores here in Canada are Chapters and Indigo, which since 2001 have been owned by the same company. I may not be the biggest bibliophile around here, but I absolutely love visiting these stores. I LOVE the smell of new books and coffee (even though I don't drink coffee). Often I will treat myself on Fridays after work by going to my local Chapters just to browse (I purchase most of my books online since it's cheaper, but will get the occasional paperback at the store).I love Barnes and Noble.
Yup, my life is exciting!
