The way my cat, Reece, starts randomly biting my husband about an hour before dinner time. Not seriously biting, just annoying nipping. As if to say, "You know what? If you fed me, then my mouth would be busy eating, and I wouldn't be able to bite you. Just a thought." It also might be construed as a veiled threat of what might happen if dinner is not served on time. Irritates my husband no end, but I am secretly really amused by it.

I love my cat's morning routine!

When Keeker's first realizes that i'm waking up, she starts to nibble at my fingers and dig at my blanket. The second I sit up or my alarm goes off, she's at the door stretching up on it until I scratch her ears and let her out. We're then joined by Lulamay and Buffy who either follow me into the bathroom, or stamped out to the kitchen where I have to give Lu her pill. Lu trys to hug/grab my hand but she eventually lets me pill her, then they all stamped back to the spare room where they're fed.

If I go back to bed, Keekers meows loudly at the door to be let back in for her morning nap after her belly is full.

While all this is going on, Sadie (the dog) is following wanting to play with the cats (who ignore her).

Going back-to-school clothes shopping!

I buy new clothes maybe once in a blue moon, like literally a max of 3 times every year. Back-to-school shopping is like a holiday for me.

I read this on a camera forum I'm on:
The other day with a 8x10" Gandolfi: A young man comes up to me and asks (in awe) how old this camera is. I tell him "12 years". Then he asks me how many megapixels it has. The camera is made of WOOD, for crying out loud!

That's gorgeous, Shannon. Remind me to visit Alaska one of these years.

I love how the low hanging, wispy, barely there, stretched cotton clouds reflect light in just the right way, so as to appear to be lit up from within instead of without.

I love shooting stars. I've seen two in the past week; I have some wishes coming to me. :)

That we as a species can take a picture like THIS and then instantly upload it to the internet from space for millions to see.

It is quite amazing. I'm loving the one that is on APOD today, a meteor in the atmosphere shot from above the Earth rather than on it. :)

I love pictures from space.

I also love cars that are vaguely shaped like wombats.

No idea what car it was. Some luxury model. It was rounded at the front and looked wombat-like to me. :)

When I told my husband that I was having a no-good, sad day, he decided to come work from home this afternoon so I wouldn't be alone. :)

That's super exciting!

Also, I forgot to respond earlier, but when you do visit Alaska you have a place to stay. That is assuming my parents are still here and/or I am. I can definitely take you to all those gorgeous places.

It is exciting. I've only ever been to one wedding before (which I hated with the fire of a thousand suns), so I'm looking forward to this one, especially given I kind of demanded an invite and got this instead. It probably means I could stop coming to Pweb now and still feel like I hit the top in "Things Accomplished" on the board.

But Shannon, I'm going to give you some time to get used to the idea of me being in the same breathing space as you before I take you up on that ;) (and I absolutely will).

I got pictures of 8 new birds today! Granted, I got up extra early and walked a few miles and spent most of the day doing it, but still...awesome!

To continue my last post in this thread, I am not at work right now. I am in bed, doing bed things, like stretching and lying down and cuddling my pillow and relaxing.

I am not shelving or doing bookdrop or reports or trying my best to ignore the stupid coworker or having to deal with patrons who don't understand that not bringing their library card is tantamount to not owning one, period (okay, we give them once chance to be unprepared), like in grocery stores, when you don't bring your money.

So yes, I love days off.

I got the most incredible, handmade, pop-up card from Alea. I mean, wow. I am stunned. You guys, this girl is a crafting wizard.

In the morning: A couple of Claussen pickles, followed by a Granny Smith apple.

I apparently have a sour-tooth instead of a sweet-tooth in the mornings, these days.

I'll channel my inner Alea for a moment:

Pictures?

:D

I love getting multiple packages delivered in a weekend containing all sorts of fun new kitchen stuff! I have a new baking stone, a really long rolling pin, different size scoopers, pirate cookie cutters, 4 baking sheets that are exactly the same (and therefore stack compactly in my cupboard!), and some other stuff I'm probably forgetting. I also got a new piano lamp, instead of the terribly ugly 80's one we've had. Yay!

Coming soon will be a grain mill, some new door mats (inside and out), supplies to craft some awesome magnet boards for above my baking bar and possibly this lamp for my living room.

In other words, i love getting a small sum of money from my grandparents' estate. It was a small sum as far as inheritances go, but I'm investing it in my kitchen, in honor of my Mawmaw, from whom I inherited my cooking abilities.
