That's usually the only kinds of mail we get. Right now we're (not so) patiently waiting for Brian's official certificates, but Guinness seems to be behind schedule? It's been over 2 months and they're supposed to take 6-8 weeks to review record claims (or so they claim).

After you said that, I spoke to the great and powerful Goog and he led me to youtube.

Wow, that was f****** up for that kid. (Can you tell Peanuts wasn't a staple in my childhood? I have no idea which kid that was.)

I should send you some random mail, Twinny.

It is really hard for me to comprehend that you don't know who Charlie Brown is. Wow. Peanuts has some great characters! You need to watch The Great Pumpkin this Halloween. I don't even celebrate and I still watch it occasionally.

At the beginning another kid mentioned a pumpkin patch; I assumed it was Charlie Brown out there but I also don't know if he has a brother, so if he doesn't, I could have ruled that out from the start. Ah well. Hello, ignorance.

Love, love, love fresh strawberries! My friends! Yummy!

Fresh fruit is the best thing to eat in the whole big wide world, I swear.
There's another home somewhere,
There's another glimpse of sky...
There's another way to lean
into the wind, unafraid.
There's another life out there...

That makes me miss Tucson sooooo much. During monsoon season (currently in progress), Tucson would get the most wonderful storms. Thunder that sounds like the Greek gods are bowling right above you, rain as if every last drop on Earth was falling down on you, lightning as if nature decided to put on a laser light show just for you. I'd turn off the lights, open the window, smell the air, listen to the water, feel the thunder, and just experience the hell out of it.

In true High Fidelity style, one of my top 5 Mundane (to others but magical to me) Things I Want to Experience is sitting through a storm just like that, on the most comfortable couch or arm chair you can imagine with a blanket wrapped around me and a cup of Chai in my hands. Also, a book within arm's reach. No TV, no music, no noise but the storm and my breathing.

*sigh* One day.

That sounds wonderful. Can I join you? Or rather just be in a similar situation, as alone-ness seems somewhat critical for the proper enjoyment of this experience.

I don't think it has to be a solitary experience but I do think it has to involve people who aren't uncomfortable with silence. Those kind of people tend to make me manic, which would ruin it for me. Which isn't to say there can't be any talking but I'm more of a "I speak when I'm moved to speak" type person, which is sometimes a lot, sometimes not at all, and sometimes somewhere in between.

With all that said, I'm sure you'd be lovely company for just such a thing. :)

I love my newish hobby of birding. Although, I guess I've been into hawks and such for awhile, but I've gotten really into birdwatching since the spring. I now have a birdfeeder, two suet feeders, a birdbath and a hummingbird feeder coming in the mail. I'm even considering getting a better camera to take better pictures of the birds. My life list is up to 62 (32 of which are from my yard)!

3 day weekends.

We'll get them every week with Brian's new position!! He was selected to work on a bomb team, which means cool new training and some more exciting, off the check-point work. And with 4 ten hour shifts, we can have 3 day weekends to go visit family, or a whole day every week to fill with OT. We are happy!

Have I told you about my robot vacuum? Her name is Rosie and she cleans my house while I sleep.

I love living in the future.

So it must do a good job? Should I think about one? I'm afraid my kids wouldn't leave it alone and would break it.

It does do a good job. Though I don't have the highest standards in the world. But it helps that you can run it every day (because I do not vacuum every day... or week...maybe month).
It does not fully replace a regular vacuum, since there are things it can't do (inside the couch, stairs if you have them, etc.)

My kids are younger then yours, but we've managed to convince Ginny that she's only allowed to press it as a reward for getting her toys off the floor.

In fact, it kind of looks a lot like this picture that I took in Bellagio:
