The bells, the bells, the bells,
The tintinabulation of the bells...
It's Sunday, and that means all the churches in town are ringing their bells. I didn't even realise how much I missed it!

Getting to work early rather than just barely on time or fifteen minutes late.
Having time in the morning to blow dry my hair instead of just letting it dry in the car on the way (30 minute commute).
Having calendars up in my office. (Externalizing time, not being in denial about how quickly it passes.)

They ring during the week, too, just not as often. But Sunday it feels like they're going all day long. It's so wonderful.

I love this new city we're living in. I never want to leave.
I also love that I can get around without worrying about car juggling and other such fun. And soon we will be getting bikes, so it'll be easier to go further, and it will mean being able to bike, which is fun.

Oh yes.Tortillas. Seriously, seriously love them.
Now that I have my tava back (basically a slightly curved cast iron pan with no lip) I am going to attempt my own corn tortillas. I have wanted some like the ones they served us in Guatemala for over a decade now. Om nom nom.

My husband makes his own flour tortillas. I'm sure they are really good if you like that sort of thing, I'm just not that into tortillas. He has one of those pans you described.

Homemade torillas are the best! I make both flour and corn, although I'm partial to flour.
Flatbreads in general are pretty awesome; I particularly enjoy naan and pita.

well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

Om nom nom, naan and pita! I love thin chewy Middle Eastern pitas, though, not the dry and nasty "pitta bread" they have in the UK.

I have excellent recipes for both if you're ever in need.
Naan is so easy and delicious. Pita is only slightly more complex, but it's SO rewarding to watch it puff up in the oven!

THIS. I realize it could go into about a billion different threads, but I love it so much. So, so much.
And I hate people that say chiptune is just a bunch of bleeps and bloops. Screw you, people I've sent clips of the Scott Pilgrim game to in musical ecstasy.
Apologies if I've posted this before.

reminds me of the video games that were out around the time that song came out by the pixies
but it would have been better listening to that version of the song than some of the repetitive songs they had in those games. btw that's my second favorite pixies tune.
ETA: this is my first favorite pixies song. it's so much better than the fast version.

I think he means the roleplaying/card game: http://www.worldofmunchkin.com/game/

The best deck that I've played with is the pirate one (Munchkin Booty?), but I own Star Munchkin and one of its expansions, and I've played Vampire Munchkin and have used the Christmas expansion. It's pretty funny and best with four people, I think. Too many and it just gets chaotic.

Whereas the only thing I know by that name are the members of the Lollipop Guild, likewise with the calling them munchkins, plural. What is/are "munchkin"? The only thing I know by that name are donut holes from Dunkin' Donuts but we always call them munchkins, plural. Just curious.munchkin

Thanks, I'm sure that's it. And I had also originally assumed Mitchi was male but after a recent post in the "Random questions" thread, I'm pretty sure she is a female. I still could be wrong, however.I think he means the roleplaying/card game: http://www.worldofmunchkin.com/game/

There was mention of a husband in the military. I know they've made some sweeping changes with the DADT policy lately but they don't actually go into effect until 6 months after it's signed into law...or something like that.
My vote is definitely female.

I love being around people with whom I'm comfortable enough to make racist jokes.
Coworker: " I haven't been out of the building for lunch all year. I must be in prison".
Me: "This can't be prison. I'm the only black person here."
Entire office: *Laughs hysterically*
Then they went on to explain that I'm not "gangsta" enough to really count as black anyway.

yeah, this is what I meant. I'm a hopeless nerd to the core.I think he means the roleplaying/card game: http://www.worldofmunchkin.com/game/
Although I also like the breed of cat called Munchkins. They're too cute for words.
And yes, I'm a chick, they don't let guys marry other guys in the military yet, sadly :/

No harm done, most people online think I'm a dude. I had people guessing for about 2 years at an old forum I used to visit. I find it hilarious.

Haha, that is/was me, too. My dear spouse of indeterminate gender had it even worse. Good to see you enjoy the game, too.

Ooh, I shall mention that about Munchkin Booty to my sister and brother-in-law, as they were deciding which one to get and that one was on the shortlist. The best deck that I've played with is the pirate one (Munchkin Booty?), but I own Star Munchkin and one of its expansions, and I've played Vampire Munchkin and have used the Christmas expansion. Hee, that amused me because I'm in a databases class right now and have been like, uh, one am I going to use this? Which is irrational, because I fight with my limited knowledge of SQL at my internship. A lot. Though we use it slightly differently.Working on the new website, I love the fact that the Database class I took a year ago is coming in handy with some more advanced SQL queries. I used a subquery last night, as well as a subquery that contained unions. Yay, education.
I love giftcards and making the Christmas excitement last well towards February, or even further. And how much better my reconfigured bookshelf piles look with fewer books.
So don't go worrying about me

So maybe I do, but that shouldn't affect
