Pfft.

They couldn't say a thing about a thread called: Those Personal Triumphs That (almost) No One Else Understands.

I hemmed two new pairs of jeans and made them perfect!

I've been searching long and hard for jeans and having a very hard time because I'm usually between regular and short length. So, I finally found some at a great price that fit really well but were too long and I thought, I can fix this! And I proceeded to do so with my little sewing machine. They look really good.

Ooooh... my recent (long) absence has been due to a lot more than one goodnight kiss.

I woke up and did a workout tape today. At 6:15 in the morning.

Not only did I make lunch, but I remembered to bring it with me.

I paid my bills on time two months in a row. Actually, somewhat early.

I have a packing list taped to my wall each week so I can remember what to bring to fieldwork with me.

The nature of the last three triumphs makes me think my ADHD meds might actually be doing me some good.

I found out that it's not a tax break they're starting this year that allows you to write off education expenses... I've just never completed a semester with a high enough GPA to qualify before. I'm off academic probation, woo hoo!

Three months in a row!

I had a hard talk with my supervisor that ended with me getting what I wanted/needed.

I worked out aerobically yesterday and also have been using weights fairly regularly for three weeks now.

I TURNED IN MY MAJOR SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY PAPER ON TIME!

Compared to last spring, this is an awesome improvement.

Of course, the paper wasn't as complicated, and turning it in on time meant leaving in some rather icky passages that my perfectionist self is annoyed at, but that's not the point. Done is better than perfect. Woohoo!

I finished my 4-page paper on time and managed to fill the quota.

I terrified a room full of children, without even trying to.

No raising my voice, no being mean, nothing. At all.

I texted him and said we needed to talk, soon, about Kansas.

My feet hurt too much for this state of affairs to continue indefinitely. Metaphorically and literally.

I managed a three-point shot. Though it wasn't really a "shot" (more like a pass to the basket from the three-point line), it still got in. However, if I'm able to shoot like this in an actual basketball game, the other team pretty much sucks.

I managed to fix something electronic, by taking it completely apart, removing the problem, and putting it back together.

I only had four left-over parts, too. And it works better than before.

I got my credit report and found out my credit score, which i've been terrified to do for years.

And -- it's not nearly as bad as I thought. It's "Fair." Apparently I've already outlived some of my bad credit. I thought it was weird that I suddenly started to get notices that I was pre-approved in the mail again.

I spent far too many hours putting together an audio player in Flash, today.

It's always fun to start a project without any idea how to execute it.

I no longer am upset by my ex-girlfriend and how she flaunts the fact she is now a lesbian in my face.

In fact I no longer care, and actually laugh at the absurdity of her being a total sdfgdfhf.

Yay for getting over unhealthy relationships!

I learned how to do SQL injections, though I'm not so sure that's a good thing- but hacking's always fun to know.

It's completely irrelavant to me by now, as most websites I visit have defenses against injections (or just use PHP instead of ASP), but it's still nice.

If you know how to use the technique, you should know how to prevent against it, and that says more than some of my classmates who have been in college for two or three years. And PHP is just as vulnerable as ASP apps if the coder doesn't take the correct precautions.

I learned how to tie a tie

The question is, will you remember next time?

That actually made me laugh out loud because I, for one, wear a tie so infrequently that I really do have to relearn how to tie it each time. It's really annoying... and shameful. Every grown man should know how to tie a tie.

Same here, except the last time I had to do it, I think I actually did manage to remember after only a few tries. It remains to be seen if I'll remember the next time, though...

Confession: I know how to tie a tie. And all my life (largely, I'll admit, due to the scene where Mrs. Darling ties Mr. Darling's tie for him at the beginning of PETER PAN so that they can go to the party) I have wanted to have a boyfriend who was unable to tie his ties properly so that I could do it for him.

Every single one of my boyfriends has been perfectly capable of tying his own ties.

Boo.

I'm working at actually remembering. I have the basic concept down, but the method still usually eludes me. That's where google comes in.

In high school I assumed this was what girls were for. Of course, my graduating class had five girls in it, so I sadly had to learn on my own, but not before winning a contest for "most original invention" in which I helped men cast off the chains of females by inventing a machine that would do it for you!

Confession: I cannot tie a tie properly and have lived in mortal terror of having a boyfriend who can't, either.

Okay, enough of this! It so happens that I'm going to have to wear a tie this Thursday, and this time, once I relearn how to tie it, I'm going to practice over and over again until it's as natural as tying my shoes! Damn things... what's the purpose of neckties anyway?

I have pretty much have had to tie a tie every day of my life (well weekday anyhow), save for a four year period in which I was at college. Hooray for catholic schools and uniforms.

I cannot express to you just how excited I was to see that, again... I let someone borrow my copy, and it got destroyed.

And, on topic... I used to know several ways to tie a tie. Now, I only use one. Because it is easier, that way.

I finished my paper and made it to bed for twenty to six this morning. It's only eight pages but I think they are reasonably good eight pages. And now I go to work and attempt to be functional.
