I ignited magnesium too. Today was my own little magic show of chemical reactions. The methane bubbles were just my grand finale.

I asked for another reference letter.

God but I hope York's professors don't scare the living bejeepers out of me.

I got the letter confirming my registration for the first and second rounds of my board exams. Terrified and thrilled.

I FINALLY figured out a hook for my autobiography essay.

I get to do Storytime all by myself on Friday.

I'm so excited!

I'm so nervous.

I filled out my student loan repayment forms.

So, the other day I went to get my bluejeans out of the dryer. I put them on. And I could not zip them up. Not because they were too small or anything, but because the little catch on the zipper had somehow or another gotten stuck at the bottom in the material between the cloth and the metal part of the zipper (if that makes sense). I could not lift it with my hands or fingers, no matter how hard I tried.

I glanced around the bedroom.

My eyes fell on a brightly colored orange toothpick that had once saved me from walking around in a gaping shirt. That's right, the one I posted about on the last page.

I used it to fix the zipper.

I am SO investing in brightly colored toothpicks. They are the most useful things in the WORLD.

Somehow I missed this the first time round.

I swam 850 yards freestyle, breathing every three strokes.

I managed to create an algorithm for finding the bigger of 2 numbers given by the user, without using Math.max or Math.min, or the If clause.
And for someone who just started learning Java, that's pretty nice =)

Well, I don't program a lot, but I basically followed that. No IF. That's awesome.

I realized that I don't think I've ever used caffeine to make myself stay awake, or to wake myself up.

There are a few occaisions where it may have been a good idea, but I still like the fact that I haven't done it. At least, not that I remember.

I am so happy.

I've managed to take two days off from school for the sake of health, and I don't feel deeply guilty about it yet.

I've almost managed to eat proper meals without anyone forcing me to for two days, now.

My unofficial scores state that I passed both parts of my 8 hour über-test on the first try. (200 multiple choice, 4 essays)

When I finally beat a campaign in Star Wars Battlefront II. I'm estatic, but no one seems to get it.

I have once again showed myself that, apart from programming, acting may be a good career choice for me.
And the way I showed myself that somewhat troubles me.

Also, I wrote the above passage without looking at the keyboard, at one try, no mistakes, as fast as I could. And while I'm writing this one, the mistakes are coming back. But that's ok, 'cause looking at my fingers writing while writing apparantly helps them. Another discovery for the bored sick man -_-

By myself, I figured out how to fix my computer!

Well, not a big fix. Yay for system restore! Still, though. I did it myself. And now I can open Internet Explorer again. Because having that not open sucked a lot.

I am embarking upon a mission to find a new fragrance to replace my ruined one (see my dy post). I feel like it will be one small step to my recovery; or possibly even a big step symbolically. It might be a little expensive but I'm worth it.

Brands that I'm looking into: Ineke and Jo Malone.

I'm going to get a scholarship that will cover my tuition for any Massachusetts public schools

I have a question for you, Luet. Why have a fragrence at all? With so many people out there with allergies, it might be a time to go scent-free.

Actually, I have allergies too including to some perfumes. When I wear something, I do it in a manner so that pretty much I'm the only one who can smell it. Or maybe if someone hugs me they get a whiff of it too. I didn't wear anything until I discovered the Gap So Pink maybe 4-5 years ago and it's so light it smells more like a B&BW shower spray than a perfume. That's what I'm looking to replace. I just miss having some smell that I identify as mine. I think most girls use scented bath products or hand lotions or something and that tends to infuse their things. I don't really have anything like that. I just want something that smells good for myself.

Heh, was that a long enough explanation for you?

150 hours, $600, 10 rolls of film, and a heck of a lot of patience, I finished my 10 print portfolio, Along Highway 1, and got an A.

Next semester, here I go.

I played a full game of rugby for the first time since breaking my ankle.

I finally completed those Grammar homework- now I can just lay back for the rest of the day...until I'll remember about that Math test. Damn you, Pythagorean Theorem (is it spelled right?)

I informed my extended family of the presence of a boyfriend in my life.

Yeah. It was almost as bad as I figured.

But it's done.

Now I just have to inform parents.

My God, I'm almost 28 years old and it's this big of a deal?

Actually, it's bigger. Because I keep them very, very far away from any news of any romantic anything, which, of course, naturally ups the hype since they wanted me married four years ago (the extended family, not the parents).

Nomi, I'm a massive fan of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. All natural scented oils--but the best part is that they use literature for inspiration! They have a Neil Gaiman line, an Alice in Wonderland line, Greek myths, and more! Plus it's really affordable! (My two current favorites are White Rabbit and Dorian--as in The Picture of Dorian Gray. Both scents use vanilla, which is my "signature" scent). There are a lot of really light fragrances, and there's a description of all the ingredients used in each one. Or if you know you like a certain scent, you can use to search function and every oil that includes that scent will pop up.

I took an online programming test (not a one where you have to program something- one where you gotta answer questions, many involving programming) with about 1/100 percent knowledge of the information needed there (i.e. there were a WHOLE lotta stuff there I had no clue about- there were questions about, I think, any programming language OTHER than the one I learn), and got 1/3, 32/96, of it correctly. And then I was like WHOA.
I think my gambling abilities are better than I expected =)

Also, I finally started learning HTML alone. And that's an improvement, because I have absolutely no clue about HTML so far.

I took an online programming test (not a one where you have to program something- one where you gotta answer questions, many involving programming) with about 1/100 percent knowledge of the information needed there (i.e. there were a WHOLE lotta stuff there I had no clue about- there were questions about, I think, any programming language OTHER than the one I learn), and got 1/3, 32/96, of it correctly. And then I was like WHOA.
I think my gambling abilities are better than I expected =)

The language you know/are learning is Java, right? Much of what you learn there is applicable to most "normal" languages; maybe you're just better at applying your knowledge to unfamiliar areas. Maybe you just have an intuitive grasp of the field! :)

Thanks for the compliment, but apart from the "regular" stuff which I didn't know about (like, say, return), there were stuff from, I think, the 60's programming languages- just some letters alone which made no sense to me by themselves, so I had to gamble.
It wasn't like C#, Pascal or whatnot, that really looks like Java; it was more like this:

MOV DX, AX
MOV CL, 15‎
SAR DX, CL
SUB AX, DX
SAR AX, 1‎

Apparantly, this one's Assembly, which I have no clue about and looks NOTHING like Java.
