Our living room only "needs" one more piece of furniture to be done.

That would actually be really cool. But also, another chair. A big, comfy chair with arms that you can fall asleep reading in.
I just haven't seen anything that will work that I can also afford. I'm not in a rush to finish things, just...it's been 10 months since we moved in and we have boxes, messes, and piles everywhere. That is decidedly not a triumph.

On Thursday I worked 16 hours and got home after midnight....
On Friday I got to work at my normal 8:30 start time so I could do whatever edits my boss needed of the project I submitted. (Note the deadline was moved up 2 weeks and I was given an additional project to complete before this one... )
At noon I got a job offer... Latteral move.... Small raise... 10 min commute instead of 1 hr 40 min each way.
I managed to not flip off my boss when giving her my 2 weeks notice.

I just had my first one on one meeting with my new PI... We've met before with my supervisor but she is out of town.... I didn't make an ass of myself and remembered to breath.

I passed a certification test today. I went in expecting not to; about 50% of people taking this exam for the first time don't pass, and even those taking it a second or third or more only pass with a 65% rate. But I managed, with a bit of room to spare. One more year of college and I've already got my most important certification done.

Woohooo..~! The awkward social interactions are the worst. I keep mucking it up when meeting professors.

Satya: way to kick ass and take names and get that certification.
I had my second one on one meeting with my PI last Friday... It went really well. I even had something to show him this time. I got 2 stains that had never been done in this lab to work.
I have a SERIOUS case of imposter syndrome when it comes to work... Like one of these days they will realize I have NO idea what's going on and they pay me WAY to much getting something to work that they have never done before helps.

I put in my two week notice today at a job I’ve barely managed to convince myself to tolerate for several years. I start my new not dissimilar job on the 14th at what should be a better environment and a better company. Ewok, this shouldn’t affect my availability for your special day. I mentioned at the interview that I would need off that weekend and they said it shouldn’t be a problem.

I think the longer term more important thing is the better environment and better company part, so I am crossing all the things hoping that is true.
But I'm also thankful you're trying to make sure you can come.
