Straight As my first semester of grad school. Not too shabby. :)
Congratulations! So proud of you.
Thanks, Bologna. :)
Nice work GD! =) How many semesters do you have left?
Two full/regular semesters, two summer sessions (including the one I'm starting in a little under 2 weeks), and maybe a 2 credit course/practicum in Fall 2015. I'm 20% finished right now.

I went on my two mile run today without zero here to give me extra motivation. This is kind of a huge deal.

So two days ago I was offered, and have accepted, a permanent teaching position at one of the most highly regarded secondary schools in my board.

This is sort of a HUGE deal, as the job market for teachers is EXTREMELY competitive and achieving this has pretty much been my number one goal in life for the last 7 years. It still feels sort of surreal.

I'm only slightly freaked out that starting Monday, right in the middle of the semester, I'll be at a new school, with new coworkers (leaving behind ones who are practically family), with new classes, filled with new students.

I acknowledge you are freaked out and would like to add: you are going to be AMAZING, and your coworkers and students will love you. I am so happy for and proud of you, she said non-condescendingly. :hatsoff:

I drove myself to work yesterday. It was strange, yet amazing. (I also kept feeling guilty for using zero's practically brand new car even though he says he is completely fine with it and is paying my portion of insurance to do it.)

I signed up with the Technology and Entertainment Exchange with the National Academy of Sciences as a consultant for film (video) and media, so--hopefully - - I can stop whining about how films never get the physics right!

I encountered/Confronted ORPHAN via Orphan's cradle and witnessed the final battle with Bhunivelze. . . not something I shouldn't be proud of. . .

I spent the past week detoxing from caffeine in an effort to cut sodas from my diet. I went from drinking several sodas per day before to drinking a few glasses of black tea now.

I survived my first day home alone with the baby. Chris went back to work today (he was able to work from home for the first 3 weeks after Ronan arrived and it was amazing).
It was a harder day than usual because Ronan was super fussy and didn't want to sleep but I survived and Chris is on his way home now :)

That is such a great accomplishment! It's so hard to go solo the first time.

I have officially re-registered myself for PWEB. I was never an active user. Admittedly, I forgot my old username, and believe this might be the third or fourth time I have registered. Regardless, I have always been a lurker.

I am happy to see that the site is back up. I tried to get back involved while it was down, and was sad to see that it wasn't up any more.

Re-registering seems a big enough triumph today.

I had a ten day visit with my family and my sister and I didn't fight once! I think we may have actually resolved our issues from our last fight.

Did a 22.8 mile bike ride from Lincoln Park Zoo to the Museum of Science and Industry and back again.

And I can still walk. Even if barely.

Um, I cleaned my bedroom. Well, my side of it.

I am not good at adulting in regards to cleaning and organizing. Like, at all. Even a little. Every bedroom I have ever had from childhood on up has been an absolute and utter disaster. Like something you'd see on "Hoarders" disaster. Well, almost.

Anyhow, I threw a bunch of things away and actually made enough floor to be worth vacuuming and it looks really pretty.

I do piles. Piles of clothes, clean and dirty (though separate from each other, thankfully). Piles of books. Piles of papers to be dealt with.

zero tells me straightening piles out does not actually make things neater but it sure does make me feel better.

A teenager's mother told me that when they were going around saying what they were thankful for, I was one of the things he said. I am so flipping touched.
