lefties, stand up and be counted.

Postby RoyalMother » Fri Jan 26, 2007 8:03 pm

In my home, only one person is right handed! The other 3 of us are left handed.
Luet's post made me curious, how many lefties are on PWEB?

The Makeout Hobo is real, and does indeed travel around the country in his van and make out with ladies... If you meet him, it is customary to greet him with a shot of whiskey and a high five (if you are a dude) or passionate makeouts (if you are a lady).

I'm ambidextrous.
Same here. I am able to use both hands...But I tend to use my right hand for almost everything.

But I putt left handed. And throw most Frisbees left-handed. Does that count?

 At least I can write legibly with my left hand. *even though I'm a rightie* Which is weird considering in many tasks my left hand is dominant over my right hand. *resigns self to the label of ambidextrous*

I have heard that Lefties compose 5 to 10% of the population, is that true?

*raises right hand*. This was kinda covered in one of those introduction threads, but I do like the fact that we get our own thread.

There's only one righty in my immediate family, too.

I don't understand the comments about right-handed tools being annoying, though. Seriously, what right handed things do you use besides scissors and desks? I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Can openers don't require any dexterity. You just turn the dealie while holding the other dealie. It's not really obvious that they are made for a particular hand dominance.

And, you know, I'm always opening cans left and right.

I'm an ambie, myself. I find lefties and righties seem to be against each other, but everyone else forgets about us Ambies. Well...you can all bow down to the righties for all I care. Even though I'm in the middle, I lean more to the right.

If we all went against you, you could just easily pretend to be one or the other. If you want to get noticed, just stop using one hand and join in the brawl.

Haven't you people heard of automatic can openers? They were all the rage a few years ago or twenty.

Binders you just flip over and use the other side.

Or just write on the other side of the pages. There's nothing inherently right-handed about the binder itself.
